Second Chance at Black Friday

Last Friday, I was off work, out and about and I happened to notice an email for $2.95 Hand Soap Sale. So after Big Lots, I skipped on over to Bath & Body Works…

I filled a bag with 6 bottles…what? That is a damn empty bag, but I just filled up on soap a few weeks ago. I was hoping to use the coupons I forgot to bring to Candle Day the week before. [$8.95 3 wick candles – it was INSANE. There were bare shelves everywhere and I managed to get 2 of the last 3-4 “Twisted Peppermint” candles. I was lucky I didn’t get shanked in the parking lot.] Unfortunately, I couldn’t stack coupons with the soaps…but they would let me do two transactions…

I was about to give up and just leave with my soap, when I noticed that they had two racks of sexy black bags by the front door. They had a shitload of the VIP Black Friday Bags left! I verified with an employee – they were selling them for $35 each and I could use all my coupons. Not only did I get $10 off, but I got a free “Winter Candy Apple” Shower Gel for Lily and a free “White Citrus” Shower Gel for myself.

Inside the gorgeous fake leather VIP bag: a Fine Fragrance Mist in “Into the Stars” (it smells nice, but I wasn’t ready to start a new scent, so I gave it to Lily); a “Winter Candy Apple” 3 wick candle, a “Twisted Peppermint” Foaming Hand Soap, a Men’s Collection 2-in-1 Hair & Body Wash in “Ocean” (my husband shall enjoy it); “Vanilla Bean Noel” Shea Butter Hand Cream; “Champagne Toast” Antibacterial Hand Gel; and a “Lump of Coal” Charcoal Sheet Mask with Purifying Charcoal.

Just a few weeks more weeks until the Semi-Annual Sale! I better make room!

Down to Earth

I couldn’t resist digging into my new Sinful Colors polishes as soon as I got them home!

I had been coveting Sinful Colors “Down to Earth” for months and months – probably over a year! I’d seen it on Insta, but never come across it in person. In fact, I’d only come across ONE of the “Moon Metals” Collection – “Cherish Me”.

“Down to Earth” is one of those odd color combinations that I LOVE – a shimmery copper, flecked with blue and silver dome glitters.

This is three thin coats of “Down to Earth” over Sinful Colors Base Coat and under Glisten & Glow Top Coat. The polish is very thin and the glitters are very sparse, but they stick better with each coat. I bet four coats would’ve been magical…

Big Lots is now Sinful

Walgreen’s has been disappointing on the Sinful Colors front lately. My worst fears have been confirmed by a Sinful Colors fb Group I joined – Walgreen’s is phasing out Sinful Colors and will no longer carry them…where will I get my fix?

Big Lots…Big Lots is where I will get my fix.

Since I moved offices across town a few years ago, there’s not a Big Lots close, so my trips have have pretty much stopped…but on my day off, I was close to one, so I stopped in to look for my precious….They had bins and bins of my precious.

I picked out 5 very glittery polishes, at $1.95 each. I got three of the Moon Metal polishes – “Planet Out”, “Cosmotion” and “Down to Earth”. I also got one of the Smashing Flecks polishes – “Smash Hit” – and I could only find one of the new Christmas Jelly Toppers – “Candy Ginger”.

I got to use a $5 off $15 coupon, because I bought some other crap, too. I’m looking forward to more Big Lots trips…

Grinchworthy

This is it – I have found the ultimate Xmas polish!

I ordered The Grinchworthy Nail Art Duo in my last Ulta order. The bottle of adhesive – “For Rhinestones Only” – had shattered either in the warehouse or during shipping and had oozed all over the set, so I had to have them send me another one. It arrived within two days and I was able to get to work…

I started with Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat. I did two coats of “Grinchworthy” on every nail. I then used “For Rhinestones Only” on my thumb and ring finger…and then dipped it into the little pot of…Grinch pubes? Is that what it is supposed to be? It was like microscopic bits of easter grass, fertilizing my entire house. I then coated each nail with Glisten & Glow Top Coat, going extra thick on my Grinch pube nails. Even so, I felt like I was molting green bits for days.

I have fallen in love with China Glaze “Grinchworthy”. I want to be a Grinch 365 days a year.

Well, since I ordered the December Target Beauty Boxes today – YES, there are TWO – I should probably tell you what was in the November box?

My dry winter skin needs ALL the products in this month’s “Hello Hydration” box. Inside the box: Hask Monoi Coconut Oil Nourishing Shampoo & Conditioner (super deluxe sample bottles!); bliss Drench & Quench Cream-to-Water Hydrator; Aquaphor Lip Repair (my poor lips need this so bad); Lumene VALO Overnight Cream; and L’Oreal Hydra Genius Liquid Care Moisturizer.

I cannot wait to moisten myself with these beauties! I will be so MOIST.

A good value for $7. As usual, free shipping, 5% off with my Red Card and a $3 off $15 coupon (that expired yesterday, December 3rd).

Nehali

Per a cashier at Aldi, this is THE nail polish of the season. Listen to her – she KNOWS about nails.

Julep “Nehali” is rich paprika metallic. Paprika is an underrated spice. I used to think it was only for deviled eggs, but my husband makes a BBQ rub that has about a cup of paprika in it – it is astonishingly good.

This is two coats of “Nehali” over Julep Oxygen Smoothing Base Coat and under Glisten & Glow Top Coat. I was originally going for a plain paint job, but I closed a box with a tape gun before my nails were 100% dry and made a pretty good dent in the middle of my middle finger. Gold Rose decals to the rescue!

Please ignore my jacked up cuticles, I had pushed them back using Julep Vanish, but I didn’t do a very even job…ugh, they need a few days to recover.

I’ve never known anyone named “Nehali”, but it is a beautiful name.
