Cloud 9

I could’ve SWORN that I’ve worn Sinful Colors “Cloud 9” before…but a thorough searching on the site tells me that I have not posted about it since purchasing for Lily in 2016. The bottle is only 2/3 full, so SOMEONE has been wearing it…

This is two coats of “Cloud 9” over Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Top Coat and under Glisten & Glow Top Coat.

Such a great Autumn/Turkey Day color!

Mantis Nails

This is the last set of Halloween Nails…I promise!

I did these nails to match my Halloween costume – I was a scary Praying Mantis!

I started with Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat and two coats of Sinful Colors “Bite”. There’s a slight texture, which is why I picked it. I topped it with Zoya Leopard Spot Topper, and then Glisten & Glow Top Coat to make it shiny.

I really liked these nails.

Spooky Skylla

Did you miss me?

More importantly, did you miss MY NAILS?

My dad died last week, so I’ve been a bit out of pocket…I’ve been in Upstate New York for the last week or so, dealing with cremation arrangements, hanging with my sister’s family, doing HORRIFIC Marketing homework…but I’m finally back in my “Beauty Hoard” headspace.

Julep Boho Glam “Skylla” has just been chilling in my untried basket since…oh, 2016? “Skylla” is a black coffee ghost shimmer. It does quite resemble wet coffee grounds?

This is two coats of “Skylla” over Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat. I added some fun spooky decals from Julep and topped with Glisten & Glow Glitter Grabber and Glisten & Glow Top Coat. Glitter Grabber really kept the decals from lifting and peeling – it’s a must when using decals!

Plain Blackcherry

Remember “Blackcherry”? Not to be confused with Buckcherry, one of the shittiest band to ever exist. I fucking HATE the song “Crazy Bitch” – it’s so misogynistic and cringey.

Sinful Colors “Blackcherry” has been sitting on my coffee table patiently for nearly a WHOLE YEAR, waiting for me to wear it again. So patient – thank you, “Blackcherry”.

This is two coats of “Blackcherry” over Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat and under Glisten & Glow Top Coat. Isn’t it gorgeous with a shiny top coat? I could get lost in that shimmer…

Moon Glow

I finally tried the last of the Formula X polishes!

This is Formula X “Moon Glow” – it’s a super sheer, super shimmery turquoise polish. I love it! There are hints of gold and violet in the shimmer…or maybe my nails are just stained….

This is two coats of “Moon Glow” over Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat and under Glisten & Glow Top Coat.

When I originally posted the pic, I had mislabeled this polish as “Moon Stone.” I drove myself crazy trying to figure out when I originally bought it, until I found the post with the correct name…then I walked into the other room an d looked at the bottle…oops!

Just Say It

Ooohhh…hot pink lip glitters!

This is Sinful Colors “Just Say It”, a light purple sheer shimmer, with gold starburst and hot pink lip glitters. The glitters are very sparse – it took a lot of fishing just to get two glitters per nail. Ugh…I hate glitter fishing.

This is two coats of “Just Say It” over Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat and under Glisten & Glow Glitter Grabber and Glisten & Glow Top Coat.

Feel the Hotness

Ooohhh…more color changing polish!

Nails Inc. “Feel the Hotness” is labeled as a “heat reactive” polish, but it takes a bit of work to see the effect. As you can see, the polish is blue at room temperature in the bottle, but white on my nails. My body heat is making it turn white…but I ran an ice cube over my nails for the second picture, and you can see how it turned blue. This would be a GREAT polish on long nails – my nails are not quite long enough for the tips to get significantly colder than the base.

This is two coats of “Feel the Hotness” over Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat and under Glisten & Glow Top Coat. This polish was particularly long lasting – I loved how long it lasted on my nails!

National Guacamole Day

When I was doing my nails last night, I had NO idea that the next day was “National Guacamole Day.” I just wanted to use the new Color Street Nail Strips that I got from my sister-in-law…but I googled it, and September 16th IS National Guacamole Day.

I started with Color Street “Let’s Guac and Roll” on my thumb and middle finger. After a coat of Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat on the rest of my nails, I used Sinful Colors “Taco Tuesday” on my index and ring fingers, and Sinful Colors “Lil Beast” on my pinkie. No top coat for scented and textured polishes.

“Taco Tuesday” is THAT scented polish. Yup, it still smells like tacos. It’s been about 24 hours and my fingers still smell vaguely like I’ve been eating Doritos. “Lil Beast” is an alien landscape textured polish and really does look like the outside of an avocado.

I’ve been missing doing fun stuff like this with my nails…Hmmm, need more (stupid, made-up) holiday ideas…

Green Apple Craze

THIS IS NOT WHAT COLOR GREEN APPLES ARE!

I mean seriously – have the folks who name Sinful Colors Nail Polish color blind? Have they ever seen an actual piece of fruit? Or do they just eat tacos and pizza???

ANYWAY, this is Sinful Colors “Green Apple Craze”, a glossy polish that looks rather MINTY if you ask me…

This is two coats of “Green Apple Craze” over Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat. I used Glisten & Glow Top Coat on all my nails, except the pinkies. I used Glisten & Glow Matte Top Coat on my pinkies – doesn’t it look like chalk?

Kirra

As I was preparing to attend my son’s Senior Night last week, I thought, “Why not show a little school spirit?” His school colors are purple and black, so I dug around for a snazzy purple…

Julep Bombshell “Kirra” is icy purple multidimensional glitter from the Hypnotic Frenzy Set – a bit more sheer than I expected, but buildable. I feel like I got decent coverage in two coats. It was a BITCH AND A HALF to get off, though.

This is two coats of “Kirra” over Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat and under Glisten & Glow Glitter Grabber and Glisten & Glow Top Coat. Maybe those five layers is why it was so hard to get off?
