September 2022 Ipsy Bag – You Got This

LOOK at September’s bag….look at it! The iridescent crinkly fabric reminds me of one of my FAVORITE Barbies – Crystal Barbie.

My product choice this month was Glow Recipe Avocado Ceramide Recovery Serum. I am glad it doesn’t SMELL like guacamole…but also sad. It’s a light, vaguely vegetable-y scented serum – I like using it in the mornings.

Also in this month’s bag: BYROE Golden Carrot Overnight Relief Mask (again, vaguely vegetable-y smelling. but not outright carrot-y); Ciate London Extraordinary Translucent Powder; Laruce Beauty LR117 Angled Shading Brush (yes, another fucking brush); and Tween.Ty Skin Tightening Cream (what an odd company name…but this shit does seem to tighten up my wrinkles).

Not a bad bag…but not ass-kicking either.

I subscribe to the basic ipsy bag for $13/month and Glam Bag X for an extra $43/quarterly. If you’d like to try Ipsy –  click here. I’ll earn 250 points if you sign up through my referral link.

September 2019 Ipsy Bag – #DiscoverYourself

Ipsy is really taking it to the next level. Not only have they added Product Choice over the last few months, but they now have added additional product tiers – Plus (5 full size products for $25) and Ultimate (12 products for $50). I am content to stick with the regular Glam Bag for now, but maybe if I win the lottery, I can upgrade?

September’s bag is a cute Constellation printed canvas bag, filled with new discoveries. My product choice this month was Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask. It was an easy pick – all of the other choices were Ofra products. No offense intended, but it is kind of a “blah” brand to me. AND I got a product anyway – Ofra Cosmetics x Madison Blush in “Sweet Stuff” (I have no idea who Madison Miller is – do you?).

Also in this month’s bag: Haruharu Wonder Honey Green Aqua Bomb Cream (but it looks like a lip balm?); Sundays Nail Polish in “No. 35” (it’s a dark navy blue); and The Beauty Crop Eyeshadow in “Halcyon” (ugh, a dark metallic army green – so weird).

A strange collection of products, for sure. What are you even doing, Ipsy?

Sugar Strawberry

I cannot believe I paid $33 for a fucking face wash.

Fresh Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash ($33) is a new product and it’s not exactly what I expected. I was expecting a cloying fake strawberry scent, but it was a natural raw strawberry smell – very subtle. The scrub has two different sizes of sugar crystals – it’s very refreshing. The grapeseed oil leaves my face hydrated, but not greasy. I am still not sure I’ll buy it again – $33 goddamn – but I do like the product.

I also picked up another new skin product – Sephora Collection Hemp Mousse Instant Mask ($7). It’s supposed to target blemishes, but I used it and couldn’t really tell if it did anything. Oh, and it vaguely smells like pot, which is weird.

As usual, I stopped by the Sale page…I picked up a Sephora Collection Luster Matte Long-Wear Lip Color in “Magenta Luster” ($3, down from $16). I feel like I got this formula in a Play! box and liked it?

I used a promo code to get a set from Tata Harper – Regenerating Cleanser and Resurfacing Mask. I only got ONE of the free samples I chose at check-out – the Glow Recipe Avocado Sleeping Mask – and I cannot wait to try it. I was so annoyed that a sample was missing, that I contacted customer care. They did give me 200 points, so I guess I shouldn’t complain too much.

$741 to Rouge status in 2020…

Holy cow – this month’s Allure Beauty Box is almost ALL masks! Well, except for the gold encrusted Invisibobble

The masks in this month’s box are Lapcos Pearl Brightening Metallic Sheet Mask (never heard of this brand); Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Jelly Sheet Mask (or this brand); Kocostar Rose Lip Mask (or this brand); Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment (yay – Glamglow is good stuff); Patchology Flashpatch Rejuvenating Eye Gels (I’ve gotten these in a sample bag before, but never used them); and Starskin Exfoliating Double-Layer Foot Mask Socks (never heard of this brand either, but been wanting to try foot peeling socks).

Also included in this month’s box – a code for $10 off any beauty purchase at Anthropologie. Yeah, not gonna use that.

My skin is really looking forward to this box!

The Allure Beauty Box is $15/month, but they give you $5 off your first box. They also offer an option for $150/year – a savings of $30. Sign up via my referral link..
