March Ipsy Bag – Floral Fantasy
I love coming back from being out of town and finding a big stack of packages – I got a Victoria’s Secret order and my ipsy bag!
March’s bag is “Floral Fantasy”. The bag is a bright Hawaiian-like floral print, full of fun stuff like NYX Butter Lipstick in “Hunk”; pūr~lisse beauty pūr~delicate gentle soymilk cleanser & makeup remover (I’m just glad it’s not another moisturizer); Boo-Boo Cover-Up in “Medium”; Dr. Brandt Skincare pores no more anti-aging mattifying lotion (I have high hopes for this one!); and VINTAGE by Jessica Liebeskind Illuminating Face Highlighter in “Crystal Pink” (is “illuminating highlighter” the new “primer”?)
I usually don’t like skin heavy bags, but I am getting to like them more and more.

Yet again, I picked the curated box – based on one product I really, really wanted.
March’s curated box is called “Beauty Solutions.” I really wanted the Laura Geller Beauty Baked Blush-N-Brighten in “Pink Grapefruit. I love baked! Also inside: Dear Clark Volumizing Hair Tonic; derma e Evenly Radiant Brightening Day Crème; Supergoop! Advanced SPF 37 Anti-Aging Eye Cream (SPF 37? Why 37? Is it a Clerks reference?); and Whish Three Wishes Body Butter in “Almond”.

March Julep Maven Box – The POP! Collection
I was all ready to start bitching about slower shipping this month, then I was like, “DUH. February is a short month.”
“The POP! Collection” is March’s theme. Lots of creamy spring colors. I totally customized my box this month. I picked Light on Your Lips lip color in “Primp” (it’s a Marsala-ish neutral; I tried it today and it was very, very dry, but ti stayed put until I had to put lip balm on), Get in Line invisible lip liner (I also tried it today and didn’t notice much; I need to try with my Benetint, which bled all over my face yesterday) and It Girl “Janet”, one of their new Soft Focus Finish polishes. I used Jules to add Ctrl-Z Makeup Eraser to my box – will this be the product that finally ends my games of eyeliner chicken???
I am really tempted to get the Lucky Mystery Box…I haven’t decided yet. I haven’t gotten a Mystery Box since the Golden Ticket Mystery Box last May. I am verklempt! I really want to name my own polish though…

February Beauty Box 5 – Hooray!
“Hooray!” is February’s Beauty Box 5. It was the very last box to arrive this month.
Inside my box: Marsk Mineral Eye Shadow in “Vanilla Frosting”; Revlon Colorstay Nail Enamel in “Bold Sangria” (Oh, this is pretty); Absolute New York Absolute Love Lip Balm in “Bubble Gum”; Avon Big Color Eye Pencil in “Natural Vibe”; Freeman Cucumber, Melon & Ginseng Lathering Body Wash and a $20 gift card to yourminerals.com, a new makeup brand.
This is possibly one of the least weird Beauty Box 5 boxes that I have received. I’m not so sure I’ll use anything but the polish and body wash, though.
February Ipsy Bag – #ipsyLove
My ipsy bag is getting better and better.
“#ipsyLove” is February’s theme. I am most excited about the polish in this bag – China Glaze “Marry a Millionaire”. The picture doesn’t do it justice – lavender and silver glitter, with green bar glitter. I also got JOYA Compostion No. 1 Parfum Oil, Medusa’s Makeup Safari Eye Shadow in “Headhunter”, Mitchell and Peach Fine Radiance Face Oil (I just started using face oil this week to try to combat winter dryness – I’ve been using nyakio Hydrating Face Oil with Kola Nut, but that sample is almost gone) and ModelCo BLUSH Cheek Powder in “Peach Bellini”.
I also used my ipsy points to get Figs & Rouge Nourishing & Soothing Hand Cream in “Rose Berry”. It is in the same tube as their lip gloss, so I hope I don’t get the two confused…
The bag is super cute and matches my purse – I’m already using my bag from last month for makeup, so I wonder what else I can put in a makeup bag in my purse?

February Birchbox – Rent the Runway
Excuses, excuses – I got my Birchbox two days ago and am just now getting around to posting it.
I just cannot resist the specially curated boxes! This month’s curated box is by Rent the Runway, a service that rents designer gown. I was ready to assume that it was a service I wouldn’t be able to use (like Stitch Fix), but they actually carry gowns up to size 22 – and not just a dozen or so…over a hundred! The fact remains though, even with a $30 off code in this box, I never, ever, ever have an occasion to wear a Badgley Mischka gown. Just never.
I will, however, use most of the other goodies in my box: derm e Anti-Wrinkle Vitamin A Glycolic Scrub, Fekkai Blowout Hair Refresher Dry Shampoo (yup, another one), Not Soap, Radio Body Wash in “The Stuff that Cupid dips his arrows in” (blackberry and vanilla, with added pheromones – I’ll save this for Valentine’s Day), Sumita Color Contrast Eyeliner in “Raina”, and theBalm Read My Lips lip gloss in “Bam!” (I’ve been wanting to try theBalm).

February Julep Maven Box – The Afterglow Collection
Julep’s shipping department is on point this month – I got my February box on January 31st!
February’s box is “The Afterglow Collection”. The star of this month’s box is Glow Highlighting Powder – a multitasking marvel designed to play up light and play down wrinkles, discoloration, and pores. (Julep’s words, not mine.) I was intrigued enough to pick it for my box. I also received Illume Face & Eye Brightener in “rise & shine” – which is not what I picked. The choices for the box were “champagne” & “pink” – I think I picked “pink”, but “rise & shine” looks like somewhere in between the two. How odd. I also used my Jules to add Bombshell “Elise” to my box. All Mavens received Classic with a Twist “Hartleigh” – red, pink and white glitter with heart glitter!
I’m excited to try the highlighter and brightener – another great box.

January Ipsy Bag – Fresh Start
This is it – the last of my subscriptions for the month.
This might be the most cohesive Ipsy Bag that I’ve ever received – I could conceivably use all of these products together and not look like a clown! January’s theme is “Fresh Start” and includes Elizabeth Mott All Over Shadow Brush (I will never have to buy brushes again); Hikari Cosmetics Mechanical Eye Liner in “Storm”; (MALIN+GOETZ) Mojito Lip Balm (I’m wearing it now – I leaned over to give my husband a smooch and he didn’t gag, so that’s a good sign); Pacifica Natural Mineral Coconut Eye Shadow in “Ethereal”; and Velvet 59 Velvet Rose Lipgloss in “Noisette”.
I’ll be trying all these out tomorrow…

January Beauty Box 5 – Hello!
My Beauty Box 5 and Ipsy Bag got to share the mailbox yesterday!
January’s Beauty Box 5 is “Hello!” this month. Inside are Hard Candy Kal-Eye-Descope Baked Eyeshadow Duo in “make believe” (I am getting addicted to wet/dry shadows!); Sally Hansen Salon Effects French Mani in “Gold Cabaret” (I’ve never tried these – this should be interesting); Ultraflesh The Gold Standard Mascara in “Blackout” (What an odd, filthy name for mascara!); Softsoap Nutri Serum Vitamin E Body Wash; and Garnier Fructis Daily Care Fortifying Shampoo (well, now I have to buy the matching conditioner for my travel bag…sneaky).
So glad to be getting makeup in my box again…
January Birchbox – Relax & Recharge
I got my Birchbox on Friday, but I’ve been so busy (and feeling a bot under the weather), that I haven’t had time to mess with it – I really need to relax and recharge!
A coincidence that January’s theme is “Relax & Recharge”? I think not…Inside my box: Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream (I need to start testing all the eye creams I receive); Briogeo “Don’t Despair! Repair” Deep Conditioning Mask (I actually used this today – I have been using the sample I received in my September Ipsy Bag about once a week for the past month – my hair is already fairly healthy, so I haven’t really noticed a difference); Manna Kadar Lip Locked priming gloss stain in “All of Me” (finally a Manna Kadar product I might try – I keep getting highlighters); Perlier Intensive Nurturing Body Balm in “Shea Lavender” (I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the Perlier Body Balm from my June Birchbox – it’s the reason I picked this curated box); When Travelmate Sheet Mask; and 2 teapigs tea temples (I assume that is a fancy name for a tea bag?) – “Liquorice and Peppermint” (gross) and “Chamomile Flowers” (maybe not gross).
I am committing to trying all these products within the next week – maybe they will make me feel less run down and snotty?
