Fruity Blend Haul

Another Target exclusive collection from Sinful Colors? Yes, please.

Winnie Harlow is Sinful Colors‘ newest brand ambassador and the new collection – Winnie’s Fruity Blend – has a smoothie like texture…neat! I grabbed all of them – $2.98 each : “Berry Crush”, “Blueberry Smash”, “Lime Light”, and “Snatched Strawberry”. There was also a new 3-in-1 Nail Treatment called “Glowin” that I’m excited to try.

I also bought Love Beauty and Planet “Indian Lilac & Clove Leaf” Shampoo and Conditioner for an upcoming road trip, as well as some back-up Contact Solution and Exfoliating Cotton Rounds. Exciting!

I got the address issue with my Target account cleared up and the polish came straight to me…although my shipment was in two boxes, which kind of defeats the purpose of them forcing me to order $35 of stuff for free shipping?

Target Beauty Capsule – Pampered Nails

The other Target Beauty Capsule that I ordered is the Pampered Nails Set. No shock there, I am a little obsessed with my nails.

Obviously, I won’t be using the KISS Gel Fantasy Nails – they’ll be gifted to anyone who wants them. I also already have a bottle of Sinful Colors “Low-Key Lavender”, which will also be gifted.

I will use everything else in this box: OLLY Undeniable Beauty Vitamins; Dr. Scholl’s Ultra Hydrating Foot Mask; Essie Expressie Quick-Dry Nail Polish in “Crave the Chaos”; BeLoved Cherry Blossom Hand Cream in “Blossom”; Up&Up Premium Cotton Rounds; Japonesque Essential 4-Way Nail Buffer; Up&Up Strengthening Nail Polish Remover; and a Manicure Set (great for purse or travel).

Another $5 off $15 coupon that must be used in-store. Ugh.

The Pampered Nails Target Beauty Capsule is $14.99 and still available! Use your Target Red Card for 5% off.

Target Queen

I went to Target a month or so ago, and it was WEIRD. The dressing rooms are still closed, but it didn’t really matter, since there were no good sales. COVID-19 has sucked all the fun out of Target.

I used up my “Queen Bee” Rollerball, so I decided to switch to the Good Chemistry “Queen Bee” Body Spray with essential oils ($9.99). Now I can DROWN myself in it, instead of just hitting my pulse points. I wish they sold lotion and shower gel – I would buy the hell out of it.

I went ahead and stocked up on my Target stuff – Laundry Detergent, Contact Solution, Rewetting Drops, Polish Remover and Exfoliating Cotton Pads. Even though I got reusable polish remover pads, I still need Cotton Rounds for my skincare regimen.

I was able to use a $3.50 off $15 coupon from my Target Beauty Box…I better use them while I can, because Target Beauty Box is another victim of COVID-19 – they’ve been discontinued, too!

Target Beauty Boxes – January 2020

Target released TWO Beauty Boxes for January – hallelujah!

I was really excited to get a sample of Love Home & Planet Laundry Detergent “Lavender & Argan Oil” – even though lavender gives me a headache. I am obsessed with the laundry detergent though – I have the Rose version and I love the way it makes my clothes smell! The bottle came with a $2 off coupon, which I will DEFINITELY use. Also in the “Clean Up Your Beauty Routine”box: Palmer’s Coconut Oil Formula Body Lotion (giving to my son); Lumene Nordic-C Cleansing Balm; Lumene Nordic-C Arctic Berry Oil Cocktail; Native Deodorant Mini in “Charcoal”; Burt’s Bees Flouride Free Purely White Zen Peppermint Toothpaste (going to Vegas with me); Mrs. Meyer’s Oat Blossom Hand Soap, and Up & Up Premium Cotton Rounds (also perfect for Vegas).

The other box – “Out with the Old, In with the New” – is full of brand new products: Clairol Hair Food Coconut & Chai Spice Sulfate Free Shampoo and Conditioner (the scent sounds weird, but I’ll try it); Crest 3D White Radiant Mint Toothpaste (maybe I’ll let my husband use this one in Vegas); Que Bella Limited Edition Watermelon peel off mask & Cooling Avocado Clay Mask Duo; Creme of Nature Perfect Hold with Exotic Shine (This says it is for “edges” – I don’t think I have “edges”); Boots No7 Laboratories Firming Booster Serum; Olay Regenerist Whip Facial Moisturizer (I love the way this feels on my face – my face just drinks it up); and Olay Regenrist Retinol 24 Night Moisturizer (this one is great, too).

Both of these boxes were GREAT!

Each box was $7, with free shipping, plus 5% off with my Target Red Card. Both boxes came with $3 off $15 coupons that expire in just a few days – I better hurry! I did use last month’s coupon – I took my daughter to Target the day after Xmas and bought half off Xmas Beauty goodies, like brushes and nail polish gift sets.

Target Birthday Shopping

Nothing burns a hole in my pocket like a Target coupon. For my birthday last week, Target sent me a coupon code for an additional 5% off a shopping trip – I had to use it before it expired!

I really didn’t need anything specific, so I just wandered. The first thing I grabbed was a replacement up & up dip-it and a bag of Exfoliating Cotton Rounds. That was the point that I noticed the rack of Sinful Colors Nail Polish. I’ve been so bummed that Walgreen’s no longer carries them. Walmart will have the new collections soon, I’ve heard – but until then, I had consigned myself to going without. What did I spy, but random bottles with “New Shade” Stickers in the Core Collection Display. Don’t mind if I do! I picked up three of the new shades – “Hot Toffee”, “Raisin the Roof”, and “Spring Fling”. I also picked up an older shade I had never seen before – “The Full Monte”.

As I moved on through the aisles, I came upon a HUGE display for Flamingo Products. Flamingo is a service similar to Dollar Shave Club – basically, a subscription box for razors and wax strips. We’re quite happy with Dollar Shave Club, but I thought I’d give the Flamingo Face Wax Kit a try. At $9.99, it was a bit more expensive than the Nads Kits I had been using, but I feel like it was much more gentle to my face AND I was able to use less strips to get the job done. Nice!

And yes…that IS a Spongebob Squarepants Outfit for my Barbies. It says, “Sponge On!” – it was very important for me to have it!

Target Beauty Boxes – January 2019

Two boxes again this month – and they are BOTH for me and my skin!

The blue box is “Hello Skin-sational!” It’s all to moisten my winter skin! Included in the box: Vichy Mineral 89 (like Heinz 57 for your face?); Cetaphil Extra Gentle Daily Scrub; Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream; Dove DermaSeries Body Lotion Replenish; La Roche-Posay Toleriane Hydrating Cleanser; La Roche-Posay Redermic R (I guess now that I’m getting old, I need that retinol); and CeraVe Skin Renewing Night Cream. I am gonna use ALL of these.

The yellow box is “Hello Flawless Beauty Finds!” It has all kinds of different stuff: Love Beauty & Planet Argan Oil & Lavender Deodorant (ugh, I really want to try their new deodorant, but lavender gives me a headache – I’ll have to see if they make a rose version); Method Body Wash in “Pure Peace” (peony and rosewater – omg, my favorites); Up&Up Premium Cotton Rounds; Maybelline Eye Studio Master Precise All Day Liner; Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Therapy Oil (I wonder how this would do on my giant belly scar?); Schmidt’s Naturals Travel Sized Toothpaste with Activated Charcoal (I’ve been wanting to try charcoal toothpaste); and Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Waterproof.

Two stuffed boxes for $7 each . As usual, free shipping, 5% off with my Red Card and each came with a $3 off $15 coupon – one for skincare only and the other for any beauty products. I didn’t use either coupon last month – I had them with my when I went to Target, I bought $20 of shampoo for the house…and I forgot to to pull a coupon out of my purse. Goddamnit.

Target Beauty Box – July 2018

A post shared by Lara (@knobbygirl) on

Hello Rejuvenation!

I will happily take all the rejuvenation I can get – this summer is so hot that a couple of hobbits threw aa ring in my backyard.

I cannot wait to try the Shea Moisture African Black Soap & Charcoal Body Scrub – all the sunscreen has left my back an oozy mess! I don’t know which is worse – sunburn or clogged pores?

Also in this month’s box: Clean & Clear Jelly Sheet Mask; HASK Coconut Dry Shampoo; Nivea Foaming Silk Mousse Body Wash; Up & Up 3 Day Whitening Kit (Oooohhh…for my teefies); TRESemme Repair & Protect 7 Mask; and Acure Brilliantly Brightening Facial Scrub (love this brand).

The box was $7, with free shipping and 5% off with my Red Card. I plan on using my $3 off $15 coupon within the next few days – it expires soon!

Queen Bee

A post shared by Lara (@knobbygirl) on

I know you’re dying to read how I used my coupons from this month’s Target Beauty Boxes…literally dying.

Something I’ve noticed – it’s impossible to use two of these coupons in a single transaction. I don’t know if the products don’t stack or what, but I had well over $30 of beauty/health/dental/personal care products in my cart (not shown here – Aussie shampoo/conditioner for my son, replacement toothbrush heads and some other crap I can’t remember), but only one coupon would validate. Whatever, Target.

ANYWAY, what you care about is is the Good Chemistry Queen Bee Rollerball Perfume ($12.99) – not the Q-Tips or cotton rounds or mustache wax. I fell in love with the scent, which was included in this month’s box. The notes are black currant, peony and amber. Peony is my second favorite after rose. I didn’t smell any similarity myself, but I noticed that Bath & Body Works “Mad About You” (discontinued) is black currant, peony and vanilla.

Target Beauty Boxes – June 2018

A post shared by Lara (@knobbygirl) on

My husband got lucky this month – a girly box AND a manly box.

The manly box – “Hello Dapper Dude” – has fancy men’s grooming products. Old Spice Hair Pomade (my husband shaves his head and my son has hair like Lady Godiva, so this will go to my brother-in-law); Cremo Blue Cedar and Cypress Body Wash (I’m not sure that there’s enough for a single shower in this little plastic bottle); Nivea Creme; Dove Men + Care Extra Fresh Body and Face Bar; Method Men’s Cedar + Cypress Body Wash (cedar and cypress again?); and Degree for Men Deodorant. Not a bad box.

The girly box – “Hello Fresh Face” – has product to help you give your skin a break from foundations by highlighting other features. This box has Eylure Accents (nope, nope, nope to fake eyelashes – feels like spiders on my face); Neutrogena Hydro Boost Mascara (interesting); Sleek MakeUP Major Matte Lip Cream in “Daydreamer”; Good Chemistry “Queen Bee” (OMFG, this smells good – it’s black currant, peony and amber and I must buy it immediately!); Garnier Micellular Water (good for cleaning up makeup mistakes); Colgate Optic White Express White Toothpaste; and Up & Up Premium Cotton Rounds. Except for those dumbass fake eyelashes, I’ll use everything in this box!

Two good value boxes!

Each box had the usual $3 off a Beauty/Personal Care purchase of $15 or more – but back to the regular kind of coupon with a bar code, not the one with a QR code like last month. Boo. Each box was $7, with free shipping and 5% off with my Red Card.

Coconut and Coffee

A post shared by Lara (@knobbygirl) on

I don’t usually share every time I go to Target, but this trip actually contained some “share-worthy” products.

I get all kinds of excited every time St. Ives comes out with a new product. I was able to use my Target Beauty Box coupon on St. Ives Energizing Coconut & Coffee Scrub. So excited to try it! But I’m making myself use up the Shea Moisture scrub before I open it…

I also tried L’Oreal Paris Pure Clay Cleanser – Exfoliate & Refine, which is a red clay as opposed to the black clay I have on my sink. Again, I’m forcing myself to use up the old one before I open the new one.

Everything else I bought was much less exciting – Axe Body Wash and Shampoo for the men, Cotton Balls, Toner, Contact Solution and a shit ton of nail polish remover.

I fucking love Target.
