Rift
Say what you want about crackle polish – it’s the one early 00s trend that I just cannot give up.
I only grabbed one of the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri x Stranger Things polishes – “Rift” which is supposed to be the red one. I was expecting a red crackle, but I should have done more research before I started. According to the internet, it’s a ‘crackle jelly’ – meaning that the color is left under the crackle. Since I used a pink polish as my base, it’s hard to tell that this polish is slightly redder than the base polish alone. I’ll have to give it another try over a white or gray polish to get the full effect.

Polish Pickup May 2024 – It Came from Outer Space
“Then at a deadly pace, it came from…outer space…and this is how the message ran…”
If you recognize that song lyric, then we can be friends.
“It Came from Outer Space” is not only a shitty 1950s horror movie, it’s the theme of May’s Polish Pickup. I was a bit conservative this month, but the ones I got look really spectacular.
I was running low of Glisten & Glow Glitter Grabber, ($9) so I thought I might as well add a bottle to my order.
Dreamland Lacquer “Welcome to Patience Colorado” ($13) is inspired by Harry (Alan Tudyk) in the show Resident Alien. We watched the first season and the rest of the family wasn’t interested in watching the second season…but it’s on my list.
Colores de Carol “Cosmic Illusion” ($13.50) is a white-to-black milky jelly thermal, inspired by the space and the planets. It even comes with a little bag of big circle glitter to set up your very nail solar system.
June’s Polish Pickup drops tomorrow…so excite!

Pink Pajama Party
There ain’t no party like a pink pajama party, cuz a pink pajama party don’t stop y’all.
I am BLOWN AWAY by Dreamland Lacquer “Pink Pajama Party“. It’s a shimmer neon that DOESN’T require a coat of white polish underneath it to make it pop. I repeat – it’s THIS pink without a white base coat. Thank you March Polish Pickup!
I am DEFINITELY taking this polish to the nail salon the next time I get a pedi – it’s that good.

Polish Pickup March 2024 – Slumber Party
I shopped light during March’s Polish Pickup – I snagged just two polishes from the “Slumber Party” themed collection.
Dreamland Lacquer “Pink Pajama Party” ($13) is inspired by the pink pajamas that one might wear to a pajama party. It seems to be a great Barbie pink, but I admit – I was really drawn in my the brand name – Dreamland Lacquer. You know who else lives in Dreamland – besides me, of course? Babs Johnson…Dawn Davenport…Francine Fishpaw…Edna Turnblad…some really GREAT ladies.
Danglefoot Nail Polish “What’s Your Favorite Scary Movie?” ($13.50) is (obviously) inspired by the film Scream.
