Kevin for King!

I’ve never heard of the game “Overcooked!” or Kevin the dog. I’m OLD. Apparently, it’s a Nintendo Switch game? In any case, Krisable Designs “Kevin for King!”, from April’s Polish Pickup, is inspired by Kevin the dog, from “Overcooked!”.

I am a nut for turquoise/teal polishes, ESPECIALLY if there is copper glitter involved. So this one was a no-brainer…

This is two coats of “Kevin for King!” over Cuticula Mic Drop Base Coat in “Melt Down” and under Cuticula Limitless Top Coat in “Raspberry Pop”.

C is for Cookie

…and that’s good enough for me!

That’s right, I was a Sesame Street kid and a Muppet Show connoisseur. I had Sesame Street Fever on 8-track, that’s how old I am. Cookie Monster wasn’t my favorite, but we got along okay…I mean – who doesn’t like cookies? I like a good chocolate chip cookie – especially the ones my daughter makes – but Oreos are my drug of choice…

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri x Sesame Street “C is for Cookie” is the truest, bluest blue nail polish that I own. There were no streaks, no bubbles, no trouble. It’s beautiful.

I almost wish that this polish was textured like the Elmo polish. Almost.

This is two coats of “C is for Cookie” over Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat and under Glisten & Glow Top Coat.

Northern Cardinal

Cadillacquer “Northern Cardinal” is another outstanding thermal polish from February’s “Wild Animals” Polish Pickup. It’s very responsive – I’ve been having great luck with thermals lately. My nails were just long enough to sometimes appear to be a red and black french manicure.

This is two coats of “Northern Cardinal” over Cuticula Mic Drop Base Coat in “Melt Down” and under Cuticula Limitless Top Coat in “Raspberry Pop“. I also pulled out the Glitter Grabber, but the flakies behaved and laid very flat for me.

Nana Nenem

By Dany Vianna “Nana Nenem” is originally from last November’s Polish Pickup – Fairytales & Folklore – but I got it from February’s Polish Pickup Overstock.

“Nana Nenem” is a Brazilian song for putting babies to sleep…and the Cuca sings this song in the Netflix series, Invisible City. I’ve never seen the show, but Google is a wonderful thing. I had totally forgot that it’s a thermal polish – and it’s a WHOPPER of a thermal. I felt like Elsa wearing it! (White is warm and the dark blue comes when my fingers get cold.)

This is two coats of “Nana Nenem” over Cuticula Mic Drop Base Coat in “Melt Down” and under Cuticula Limitless Top Coat in “Raspberry Pop“.

Poison Ivy

Why yes, I am still working on all those polishes I bought in January…why do you ask?

‘Ard as Nails Lacquer “Poison Ivy” is a color-shifting chromed polish that shifts from coppery red to gold to forest green (red, gold and green…like a Karma Chameleon?). This polish would be smashing at Xmas time.

This is two coats of “Poison Ivy” over Cuticula Mic Drop Base Coat in “Melt Down” and under Cuticula Limitless Top Coat in “Raspberry Pop“.

Pink Pajama Party

There ain’t no party like a pink pajama party, cuz a pink pajama party don’t stop y’all.

I am BLOWN AWAY by Dreamland Lacquer “Pink Pajama Party“. It’s a shimmer neon that DOESN’T require a coat of white polish underneath it to make it pop. I repeat – it’s THIS pink without a white base coat. Thank you March Polish Pickup!

I am DEFINITELY taking this polish to the nail salon the next time I get a pedi – it’s that good.

This is two coats of “Pink Pajama Party” over Cuticula Mic Drop Base Coat in “Melt Down” and under Cuticula Limitless Top Coat in “Raspberry Pop“.

Elmo Loves HUE

This polish…is not what I was expecting. I expected Sally Hansen Insta-Dri “Elmo Loves HUE” to be a fun textured polish that resembles red muppet fur…I was so, so wrong. The base of “Elmo Loves HUE” is very, VERY sheer – which leaves the skinny bar glitter pieces appear to be red hairs floating in a clearish liquid. I cannot get rid of the visual in my head of Elmo shaving (some body part) into the toilet, and…I know I need mental help.

This is two coats of “Elmo Loves HUE” over Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat, and under Glisten & Glow Glitter Grabber and Glisten & Glow Top Coat.

Does anyone want to borrow the Elmo clippings nail polish? I don’t think I want it in my house anymore – I got the “ick.”

Poison Garden

If I ever get to London, the first stop is The Poison Garden. Maybe second stop, after the chippy.

I’m still working through all those “Deadly Plants” polishes I got back in January. I really love the theme! This one is Envy Lacquer “Poison Garden” and it is hypnotizing. Is it blue? Is it green? I cannot decide.

This is two coats of “Poison Garden” over Cuticula Mic Drop Base Coat in “Melt Down” and under Cuticula Limitless Top Coat in “Raspberry Pop”.

Jafar

Nailtopia “Jafar” is another polish from the Disney 100th Anniversary Collection, except it’s a special “Villains” collection. It’s a shiny, tomato red…just GORGEOUS.

This is two coats of “Jafar” over Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat and under Glisten & Glow Top Coat.

While LaLa and I were at Ulta, she was looking for this polish. She had seen it at her Ulta in Lufkin, but the bottle was broken or something, so she didn’t get it. My Ulta didn’t have it and it had already been removed from the website – oh no – but I found it on Amazon for $8.99, which is better than Ulta’s $10 anyway. And YES, I made sure it was okay that I sampled the polish I was giving her.

SCRAM!

According to my mom, The Swedish Chef was my favorite muppet…but if you asked me, I would say Oscar the Grouch.

This is Sally Hansen Insta Dri x Sesame Street “SCRAM!”, inspired by – of course – Oscar the Grouch. I think it’s hilarious that THIS is the polish that gets a silver shimmer, but I guess it kinda makes sense, since Oscar lives in a silver garbage can.

This is two coats of “SCRAM!” over Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat and under Glisten & Glow Top Coat.

Coincidentally, I got my daughter to agree to watch EVERY muppet movie ever made during the month of April. She HATES muppets. <Jason Momoa voice> This is gonna be fun.</Jason Momoa voice>
