Influenster Vox Box – Rosy Vox Box
Ooooooh! I finally qualified for a good vox box from Influenster. (I received one with coupons for gluten free stuff a few months ago. No. Thank. You.)
I was most excited to try the two Vera Wang Embrace fragrances in the box. Rose Buds and Vanilla is my jam. It’s a very mature rose scent, reminiscent of Cartier Goutte de Rose. I likely will buy it when I can find it in a store (not at Ulta or Sephora yet – I checked. The other scent is Marigold and Gardenia, also very mature…but not in a good way. I wore it all day yesterday – that powdery gardenia scent is not for me.
Also in the box: Fancy Feet Ball of Foot Cushions (I’ve pretty much given up on heels, but these might make them more comfortable for me…and an excuse to go shopping); Secret Clinical Strength Deodorant (I’ve never felt like I am particularly stinky or sweaty, but a good deodorant nonetheless); Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Soft Waves Sea Salt Spray (I have sooooo many sea salt sprays, but they work so well to add a wave with a simple hair twist); and Purell Advanced Hand Sanitizer Naturals (I admit, I don’t use hand sanitizer if I can help it – it makes my knuckles bleed…but I’ll be keeping it in the car for the kids).
Good job Influenster – I’ll likely be buying a full size of at least one product in the box…

Influenster Vox Box – Fresh is Fierce Vox Box
Influenster sent my vajayjay a gift!
Inside my Fresh is Fierce Vox Box is a 20 pack of Carefree acti-fresh pantiliners. Carefree is my regular brand, so I was quite happy to save a dollar and get a free pack. Ever since getting my Mirena three years ago, pantiliners are all I’ve needed. (IUDs are the next best thing to a hysterectomy!)
I also got a 50 cents off coupon – score!

Back from Hiatus
Somehow I managed to get stacked with a business trip to Dallas and a Girl’s Weekend in New Orleans within the same week.
It was like I was on another planet for over a week!
At least I had the pleasure of coming home to a nice healthy pile of boxes – Birchbox, Ipsy, Beauty Box 5 and Influenster!
I’ve managed to open them all and peek inside, but it will probably take a few days to post them all…
Since we were going to New Orleans, I had to bust out “Bitchcraft” from Delush Polish’s Scream Supreme Collection.
My nails had to look good as long as possible, so I used my best base coat – Orly Bonder – and topped it with 2 coats of Glisten & Glow “HK Girl”.
After 2 coats, my nails were as hard as rock.
Let me tell you, it was a sonuvabitch to get off – it took over 30 minutes.
We had planned on doing a full American Horror Story Coven tour, but my hangover prevented us from going on any tours. I’m not as young as I used to be – I can’t hang with the big dogs. We did, however, go find Madame LaLaurie’s mansion in the French Quarter before we started drinking too heavily. They don’t allow tours anymore, which is a bummer, but we did peek into the courtyard and look into the windows.
I guess that just means we’ll have to go back again soon to get to see the Garden District house and all of the other locations we had planned on going to see!
Influenster Vox Box – Calvin Klein VoxBox
I had no idea that I qualified for the Calvin Klein Vox Box until I started getting emails telling me to check it in.
Inside the little silver bubble envelope was a sample of REVEAL Men Calvin Klein – Calvin Klein’s newest fragrance for men. Read their description:

This scent is NOT for me. It is a sophisticated scent for sure, but it smells too “Grandpa” for me to like on my husband. He sniffed it and just shrugged, which is high praise from him. I do know that he used to wear CK One long before we met, so it’s not a stretch for him to wear it. Actually, I may let his dad check it out – he might like it.
The sample also came with a little fake leather credit card holder – Logan will get a kick out of it. I’m afraid to give the sample to him – my sister gave me some Sephora Men’s cologne samples to give him and he coated himself in Paco Rabanne. Oh my GAWD, it made me gag.

Influenster Virtual Vox – Ice Cream Stock-Up
So…I joined Influenster. Influenster is a site that links to your Social Media accounts. You can participate in campaigns to trial products and programs, in addition to giving opinions on products, services and entertainment on their website. Sometimes, you have a chance to get free stuff. They even do whole boxes of free stuff. I figured I could give it a spin to try it out…
The first thing I qualified for was the Ice Cream Stock-up Virtual Vox. Influenster sent me a coupon for a free box of ice cream from Target – score! I was a bit disappointed that the coupon I got was for Fruttare and not Magnum or Klondike. Luckily, Target was having a “Buy 3, Get 1 Free” sale…
You know that commercial where Rachel Bilson is stuck in a traffic jam, but then she goes berserk and carjacks an 18 wheeler full of ice cream bars? Totally realistic, because Magnum is that fucking good. I only buy them when they’re on sale AND I have a coupon – even at $3.49 each on sale, that’s pretty pricey when there are only 3 in a box.
Obviously, I bought 3 boxes of Magnum and used my free Fruttare coupon, so really – I got 2 free! Fruttare is actually pretty good. I got Coconut & Milk – there were chunks of real coconut in it!
