The Killing Moon
I am totally out of the video game world – I’ve never heard of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty? That’s the name of the game that inspired this polish from April’s Polish Pickup.
I love thermal nail polishes and Cadillacquer “The Killing Moon” is a beautiful one. I wish I had tried it with longer nails, so that I could get more of the black tips, but my daughter keeps leaving town…and doing dishes DESTROYS my nails.
This is two coats of “The Killing Moon” over Cuticula Mic Drop Base Coat in “Melt Down” and under Cuticula Limitless Top Coat in “Raspberry Pop”.

Welcome to IKEA
Do you ever have a creative idea come to you as you’re falling asleep? And then you become obsessed by the idea and you keep thinking about it, and you cannot stop thinking about it…until you DO IT?
These nails were one of those liminal ideas…and it turned out disappointing, to say the least. My sleep-addled mind forgot that yellow + blue = green, so that’s how I ended up with mostly greenish nails, instead of resembling IKEA branding. I tried, okay?
I started with Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat and two coats of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri “C is for Cookie” on my first four nails. I left my thumb plain and then topped the next three fingers with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri “Think BIG”. My pinky got just two coats of “Think BIG” – and I cannot help but think of the bathtub after Big Bird shaves their legs…(yes, I’ve always considered Big Bird to be non-binary)…I topped with Glisten & Glow Glitter Grabber and Glisten & Glow Top Coat.
IKEA nails lasted exactly two days. LOL.

What’s Your Favorite Scary Movie?
…mine is…wait, I have to pick just one? Dead Alive, no…Bride of Chucky, but what about Evil Dead II? Or is it Scream? Carrie, Midsommar, The Midnight Hour…too many to even list…
Danglefoot Nail Polish “What’s Your Favorite Scary Movie?” is inspired by one of those…Scream, of course. It’s a blue-toned black polish, with a red/maroon shimmer and silver holographic flakes. It’s from March’s Slumber Party Polish Pickup.
This is two coats of “What’s Your Favorite Scary Movie?” over Cuticula Mic Drop Base Coat in “Melt Down” and under Cuticula Limitless Top Coat in “Raspberry Pop“.

Welcome to Patience Colorado
I need to watch Season 2 of Resident Alien! Maybe after I finish Season 2 & 3 of Chucky and Season 2 of Interview with the Vampire…
Why am I talking about my backed up TV show queue? Maybe because Danglefoot Polish “Welcome to Patience Colorado” is inspired by Alan Tudyk’s wacky alien, Harry, from the SyFy Channel show, Resident Alien. Harry is obsessed with Law & Order and masquerades as a doctor in a secluded Colorado mountain town.
“Welcome to Patience Colorado” reminds me of “Karma Chameleon” a bit, but with a fine sprinkling of white microglitter. It’s like snowy alien skin! It’s from May’s Polish Pickup – It Came from Outer Space.
This is two coats of “Welcome to Patience Colorado” over Cuticula Mic Drop Base Coat in “Melt Down” and under Cuticula Limitless Top Coat in “Raspberry Pop”.

Beach Please
I was positively underwhelmed by Funky Fingers “Beach Please”. I was expected a sheer peachy, but this polish is almost NOTHING on my nails. There’s a wash of color, with a hint of purple sheen, but that’s it.
BORING. No wonder it’s been sitting around since 2016.

Polish Pickup May 2024 – It Came from Outer Space
“Then at a deadly pace, it came from…outer space…and this is how the message ran…”
If you recognize that song lyric, then we can be friends.
“It Came from Outer Space” is not only a shitty 1950s horror movie, it’s the theme of May’s Polish Pickup. I was a bit conservative this month, but the ones I got look really spectacular.
I was running low of Glisten & Glow Glitter Grabber, ($9) so I thought I might as well add a bottle to my order.
Dreamland Lacquer “Welcome to Patience Colorado” ($13) is inspired by Harry (Alan Tudyk) in the show Resident Alien. We watched the first season and the rest of the family wasn’t interested in watching the second season…but it’s on my list.
Colores de Carol “Cosmic Illusion” ($13.50) is a white-to-black milky jelly thermal, inspired by the space and the planets. It even comes with a little bag of big circle glitter to set up your very nail solar system.
June’s Polish Pickup drops tomorrow…so excite!

NO! Not Rainbow Road!
If I had a nickel for every time I careened off Rainbow Road, I’d be dead.
Dam Nail Polish “NO! Not Rainbow Road!” is from April’s Video Games Polish Pickup, and is beautifully inspired by the toughest level in every Mario Kart game (that I’ve played, anyway). It’s just a glitter jelly, but the glitter is holographic – it’s just perfect!
This is two coats of “NO! Not Rainbow Road!” over Cuticula Mic Drop Base Coat in “Melt Down” and under Glisten & Glow Glitter Grabber and Cuticula Limitless Top Coat in “Raspberry Pop”.

Queen of Rot
I am so out of touch with the video game world…Bee’s Knees “Queen of Rot” is inspired by a boss named Malenia, from the game Eldin Ring. I googled her and she seems to have her titties out. Good for her! Slay them all with your titties out!
I like a nice color-shifting moment, and “Queen of Rot” shifts from a dark forest green to a scabby brownish red. I like it a lot. (This was the first polish I picked from the April batch.)
This is two coats of “Queen of Rot” over Cuticula Mic Drop Base Coat in “Melt Down” and under Cuticula Limitless Top Coat in “Raspberry Pop”.

Hummingbird
I love hummingbirds – they’re my second favorite bird, after the noble flamingo.
Penelope Luz “Hummingbird” is from February’s Polish Pickup. The only kind I see around here are ruby throats, which are green – but I’m sure there are beautiful blue hummingbirds in Mexico and Central America.
This is two coats of “Hummingbird” over Cuticula Mic Drop Base Coat in “Melt Down” and under Cuticula Limitless Top Coat in “Raspberry Pop”.

Mileena Wins
Yes, THAT Mileena. Emily de Molly “Mileena Wins” is from April’s Video Games Polish Pickup and is inspired by Mileena from Mortal Kombat II. You know, the hot pink version of Kitana, except with TEETH. I LOVE looking at this polish!
I have literally a thousand hot pink polishes, but that’s what I love about Polish Pickup – each polish is so different that I’ll soon have two thousand hot pink nail polishes. To be fair, it’s really a red jelly with blue shimmer and gold glitter…but my human eyes detect hot pink.
This is two coats of “Mileena Wins” over Cuticula Mic Drop Base Coat in “Melt Down” and under Cuticula Limitless Top Coat in “Raspberry Pop”.
