Sun Water Alchemy
Jior Couture “Sun Water Alchemy” is the final polish that I picked for August’s “Woodland Magic” Polish Pickup. It’s inspired by a serene woman in the woods. To me, it looks like the sun peeping through a canopy of trees to reflect on a dark body of water.
While the polish itself is gorgeous, the brush SUCKED. I suspect I just got a defective one, because I haven’t noticed a problem with any of my other Jior Couture polishes.
This is two coats of “Sun Water Alchemy”, over Cuticula Mic Drop Base Coat in “Froot Loops” and under Cuticula Limitless Top Coat in “Pink Sugared Lemons“.

Polish Pickup August 2026 – Woodland Magic
August’s Polish Pickup theme was “Woodland Magic” and even though there were loads of cute polishes available – my order was rather conservative.
Rogue Lacquer “Fire Swamp” ($13) is inspired by the titular Fire Swamp in The Princess Bride.
Stella Chroma “Megaloceros” ($13.50) is named after the mountain of King Thranduil, father of Legolas in The Lord of the Rings.
Jior Couture “Sun Water Alchemy” ($15) is inspired by a serene woman in the woods.
Which one should I try first?

The Tea on the Manatee
Two Jior Couture polishes in a row? How did that happen?
Jior Couture “The Tea on the Manatee” is from way back – I originally picked it up from the July 2024 REWIND Polish Pickup, but it originally was featured in October 2021’s Monsters & Mythical Creatures Polish Pickup.
The ACTUAL tea on the manatee is that sailors used to mistake manatees for hot ladies with fish bodies…you know – MERMAIDS. I definitely could be mistaken for a manatee at a distance, so it makes total sense. Also…did you know that sea monster sightings were actually whale penises? It’s true – look it up!
I had been getting bored with thermal nail polishes, but this one reminded me why they’re so fun! It has a strong thermal effect AND is filled with flakies. I’m pulling this one back out in wintertime.

Quirky Quokka
When threatened, the quokka will toss its own baby at a predator in order to make a quick getaway. And that my friends, is how the quokka fits into February’s “Cute but Deadly” theme.
Jior Couture “Quirky Quokka” is filled with multichrome and neon microglitter. It has a slight texture – I probably should have added Glitter Grabber, but I didn’t consider it at the time. The neon yellow microglitter kind of overpowers the rest of the shades, but I don’t hate it. I don’t love it, but I don’t hate it.

Polish Pickup July 2024 – Rewind
Somehow, I missed June’s Polish Pickup…I was traveling and it just slipped my mind. So that’s my excuse for going fucking HAM in July. 10 polishes…FUCK YEAH!
Starting from the top left and going clockwise:
Beaux Rêves Lacquer “Blooming Azalea” ($12) was originally from January 2024 – Deadly Plants. It’s inspired by azaleas and is a magnetic polish. I’m unlikely to magnetize it though.
Atomic Polish “Sour Apple Rings” ($13.50) was from May 2023 – Junk Food. It appears fairly self explanatory.
Cuticula “Never Sleep Again” ($13) was from September 2022 – Scary Vibes. Helloooo Freddy Krueger!
Limitless Top Coat by Cuticula in “Champagne Toast” ($10) was from April 2023 – Flower Power.
Pinnacle Polish “I Made a Promise, Mr. Frodo” ($13) was from October 2022 – Sidekicks. It was inspired by ass-kicking Samwise Gamgee.
By Dany Vianna “Rosewater” ($14) was another from April 2023 – Flower Power. It’s inspired by…rosewater.
Jior Couture “The Tea On The Manatee” ($13.75) was from way back in October 2021 – Monsters & Mythical Creatures. This thermal polish is inspired by the idea that sailors often mistook manatees for mermaids.
Crystal Knockout “25 Fly” ($12.50) was from October 2023 – 90’s Grunge and inspired by Veruca Salt’s “American Thighs” album.
Lilypad Lacquer “You will respect my authoritahhh!” ($14) was from February 2022 – 90’s TV and inspired by Officer Cartman.
Last, but not least…Sweet Heart Polish “You Betta Recognize” ($13) was from February 2024 – Wild Animals and inspired by the red Veiltail Betta fish.
I bet you’ll never guess which one I picked to try first…
