September 2022 Sucreabeille Mini Subscription Bag

This will be my last Sucreabeille Subscription Bag for a while – between work and grad school and kids and Bandtober, I am short on time to enjoy all these scents!

September’s unreleased scent is “Spoopy”, which gives me a “butter melting on hot gingerbread” vibe. I want to eat it, not wear it.

I’ve already got a big rollerball of “Blood Drunk”, a musky pomegranate.

“Why Use Many Word When Few Do Trick?” is from the Dunder Mifflin Collection. It smells like Big Red gum to me! So cinnamon-y.

“Ruthless B-Word” is a lot to handle – the lychee scent smacks you in in the face. Hard. There’s a bit of orange, but nope – it’s that weird lychee candy in a bowl at the donut shop.

“Xanadu” has strong notes of pine – maybe that is why it smells like Pine-Sol on my skin? I assume it’s the lavender that smells like Ant Bait. Not a fan.

“Philosopher’s Stone” is a Harry Potter themed scent – it smells like a dirty coffee cup…and rain. To be honest, I don’t hate it.

I don’t love these scents as much as previous month’s scents – it’s almost like I have fragrance overload. I am ready for a break.

The Mini Subscription used to be $15 + shipping, but recently increased to $28 + shipping. I felt a momentary pang to lose the original pricing, but I’ll cope. Click here for a $5 off coupon (for you AND me)!

Do Your Fang

I did all these cool Halloween Nails…but I was too busy in New York to post much…so you will be getting spooky nails WELL into November – deal with it.

I splurged on Color Street Nail Decals this Halloween – they had lots of pretty designs this year!

This is Color Street “Do Your Fang”, which is a combination of black to red sparkle ombre and bats!

And yes, I did buy some of those “Adult Happy Meals” from McDonald’s…it was not my proudest post-Colonoscopy meal, but it’s where my husband took me.

Spooky Skylla

Did you miss me?

More importantly, did you miss MY NAILS?

My dad died last week, so I’ve been a bit out of pocket…I’ve been in Upstate New York for the last week or so, dealing with cremation arrangements, hanging with my sister’s family, doing HORRIFIC Marketing homework…but I’m finally back in my “Beauty Hoard” headspace.

Julep Boho Glam “Skylla” has just been chilling in my untried basket since…oh, 2016? “Skylla” is a black coffee ghost shimmer. It does quite resemble wet coffee grounds?

This is two coats of “Skylla” over Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat. I added some fun spooky decals from Julep and topped with Glisten & Glow Glitter Grabber and Glisten & Glow Top Coat. Glitter Grabber really kept the decals from lifting and peeling – it’s a must when using decals!

Sweet Tooth

It’s spooky season! And spooky season means spooky nails!

Candy corn isn’t exactly spooky…but it is definitely October-y.

This is Color Street “Sweet Tooth”. This is one of the best Color Street applications I’ve done, if I do say so myself…and I do.

Not to brag, but I had no less than FIVE nurses compliment my nails when I went in for a colonoscopy on Wednesday. One of them was a dude…just saying. (If you are in the “45 and over” boat like me, go get your pooper checked! Please and thank you!)

I also want to point out the glittery avocado charm I am holding – I am OBSESSED with it. Many thanks to my LaLa and my Lisa for picking it out for me! I may have to pull out “Let’s Guac and Roll” again…

Plain Blackcherry

Remember “Blackcherry”? Not to be confused with Buckcherry, one of the shittiest band to ever exist. I fucking HATE the song “Crazy Bitch” – it’s so misogynistic and cringey.

Sinful Colors “Blackcherry” has been sitting on my coffee table patiently for nearly a WHOLE YEAR, waiting for me to wear it again. So patient – thank you, “Blackcherry”.

This is two coats of “Blackcherry” over Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat and under Glisten & Glow Top Coat. Isn’t it gorgeous with a shiny top coat? I could get lost in that shimmer…

September 2022 Ipsy Bag – You Got This

LOOK at September’s bag….look at it! The iridescent crinkly fabric reminds me of one of my FAVORITE Barbies – Crystal Barbie.

My product choice this month was Glow Recipe Avocado Ceramide Recovery Serum. I am glad it doesn’t SMELL like guacamole…but also sad. It’s a light, vaguely vegetable-y scented serum – I like using it in the mornings.

Also in this month’s bag: BYROE Golden Carrot Overnight Relief Mask (again, vaguely vegetable-y smelling. but not outright carrot-y); Ciate London Extraordinary Translucent Powder; Laruce Beauty LR117 Angled Shading Brush (yes, another fucking brush); and Tween.Ty Skin Tightening Cream (what an odd company name…but this shit does seem to tighten up my wrinkles).

Not a bad bag…but not ass-kicking either.

I subscribe to the basic ipsy bag for $13/month and Glam Bag X for an extra $43/quarterly. If you’d like to try Ipsy –  click here. I’ll earn 250 points if you sign up through my referral link.

Moon Glow

I finally tried the last of the Formula X polishes!

This is Formula X “Moon Glow” – it’s a super sheer, super shimmery turquoise polish. I love it! There are hints of gold and violet in the shimmer…or maybe my nails are just stained….

This is two coats of “Moon Glow” over Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat and under Glisten & Glow Top Coat.

When I originally posted the pic, I had mislabeled this polish as “Moon Stone.” I drove myself crazy trying to figure out when I originally bought it, until I found the post with the correct name…then I walked into the other room an d looked at the bottle…oops!

Just Say It

Ooohhh…hot pink lip glitters!

This is Sinful Colors “Just Say It”, a light purple sheer shimmer, with gold starburst and hot pink lip glitters. The glitters are very sparse – it took a lot of fishing just to get two glitters per nail. Ugh…I hate glitter fishing.

This is two coats of “Just Say It” over Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat and under Glisten & Glow Glitter Grabber and Glisten & Glow Top Coat.

Lip Bond vs Everlasting Hyperlight

I was bored last week, so I paid FULL PRICE on two new lipsticks. FULL PRICE!

I have been very curious about Urban Decay’s new “Lip Bond” product, so I ordered Urban Decay Cosmetics Vice Lip Bond Glossy Liquid Lipstick in “Once Strangers” ($25). I was expecting a product similar to Colourpop’s Glossy Lip Stain…but I was so wrong. This product is a full-on liquid lipstick. It is full coverage and it stays ON those lips. There was NO transfer onto cups, yet it didn’t dry and crack my lips like the original Vice Liquid Lipstick. It looks glossy, yet is only slightly tacky and NOT sticky. Urban Decay has a winner with this formula! My only issue was that I picked a color bad for me…”Once Strangers” is a dark chocolate brown. I was expecting more of a dark red, but it looks like I rubbed a melted Special Dark bar on my lips. At least I got a free keychain.

KVD Vegan Beauty is FINALLY getting around to re-imagining their products after Kat Von D left the brand. Not only have they reformulated the Everlasting Liquid Lipstick, they’ve renamed them all. I tracked down the counterpart to my beloved “Lolita” – it’s now KVD Beauty Everlasting Hyperlight Vegan Transfer-Proof Liquid Lipstick in “Queen of Poisons” ($22). The color is right and the formula is amazingly light. I’m not planning on replacing all my old lipsticks quite yet…but it IS tempting.

If I had to choose, I would choose the KVD formula, but the UD formula is close behind…

I cruised through the sale page and picked up a Freeman Purifying Cream Mask ($3.49, down from $4.99 – not exactly what I was expecting, I thought it would be a creamy clay mask…but it’s more like a thick moisturizer); a loofah ($2, down from $4), and a WHIM by Ulta Beauty Rosé Shower Flower ($1.75, down from $3.50).

Oh, and I got a nice Beauty Break from it Cosmetics, with Brow Power in “Universal Taupe”, Confidence in a Cleanser, Hello Results Baby-Smooth Glycolic Peel + Caring Oil, and Confidence in Your Beauty Sleep…all in a nice big branded makeup bag.

$186 to Diamond in 2023.

Feel the Hotness

Ooohhh…more color changing polish!

Nails Inc. “Feel the Hotness” is labeled as a “heat reactive” polish, but it takes a bit of work to see the effect. As you can see, the polish is blue at room temperature in the bottle, but white on my nails. My body heat is making it turn white…but I ran an ice cube over my nails for the second picture, and you can see how it turned blue. This would be a GREAT polish on long nails – my nails are not quite long enough for the tips to get significantly colder than the base.

This is two coats of “Feel the Hotness” over Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat and under Glisten & Glow Top Coat. This polish was particularly long lasting – I loved how long it lasted on my nails!
