Soap, Soap, Soap!

So, I’ve been sitting on my hands all day, trying not to order goodies from Bath & Body Works. The entire store is Buy 3, Get 3 and the Black Friday bag looks really good…but you and I both know that the Semi-Annual Sale will be better. I can wait 30 days, can’t I?

Last Saturday was a killer deal though – $2.50 Hand Soaps! The limit was 15, so 15 was how many I bought. Most were Xmas scents, but I stocked up on some “Rose Water & Ivy” as well.

They let me stack coupons, so I got to use a $10 off and a free item coupon. I wanted to get another “Rose Water & Ivy” Body Wash – but it’s off the shelves. The Fuck? Same for “Black Peony”! I was going to settle for “White Citrus”, but they had everything BUT the body wash. I gave up and picked out a Body Wash for my husband – he got Aromatherapy “Stress Relief” – he likes those mint and eucalyptus body washes, but I cannot STAND a minty bunghole.

The receipt said I saved $83.50 – not bad!

$5 Friday

I know I said I’d use up what I had before I bought more…but $5!

Last Friday, I got that magical email from Bath & Body Works that “selected fragrances” were on sale for $5 – shower gel, body cream, even fine fragrance mist! When I got there, it was all the new scents! It was Friday – I had the beginnings of a migraine – so I treated myself to a full set of both “Midnight Peony” (the muskier sister to my old favorite “Peony”) and “Rose Water and Ivy” (maybe my new favorite – it’s very similar to the long discontinued “Delicate Petals” from Victoria’s Secret).

I also had a coupon for a free item up to $14, so I got a “Hello Beautiful” Shower Gel to fill up my travel size bottle. So that was 7 products for $30 – that’s a smoking deal!

I also sampled another new scent that I’m adding to my wishlist – “Kaleidoscope”. (It wasn’t on sale, or I would’ve gotten it.) The main note is pink pepper – I have no idea what that really is, but it’s spicy and I love it. I think Tory Burch also has Pink Pepper, because that’s what it reminds me of.

One Last Semi-Stop

I controlled myself so well…until Sunday, the very last day of the Semi-Annual Sale. I found myself at the mall, killing time while Lily was at a birthday party…

The pickens were pretty slim on the last day of the sale….but there was plenty of $2 and $3 Hand Soap. I picked up 12 – 10 for me and 2 for my big sis, because they match her kitchen.

I used a $10 off $30 coupon – all this was just $23 AND CHANGE!

Just 6 more months until the next sale…

Semi-Annual Split

God bless the employees at Bath & Body Works. They let me split my order into two transactions, so I could use two $10 off $40 coupons.

The first bag is nothing but Hand Soap. I got 14 of them. Most were $3 or $3.25, but one of them was $1.65 (75% off). One of them was “Black Cherry Merlot”, my daughter’s favorite scent.

The second bag is mostly $3 Wallflowers – I picked up 11 of them. Again, I picked up 2 “Black Cherry Merlot” for my daughter’s Wallflowers. The rest are a variety of scents. I also picked up another loofah ($3.95) and a Neon Flamingo Scentportable Holder ($4.25).

The sale should be going on for another couple of weeks – I’m fairly sure this is not my last trip, especially since I just got a 20% off $25 coupon in my email today.

Scentporta-yay

As much as I complain about all the retail spam I get – how else would I know about all the good sales? I got an email from Bath & Body Works that Scentportables would be $1.95 each on Memorial Day, so I got my ass in the car!

I threw 10 in the basket, mostly “Rose Water & Ivy”, but a few other scents, too. The store wouldn’t let me stack coupons, so the rest of my haul was a separate transaction, so I could use the coupons I got in the mail – 20% off, plus a free product up to $6. For my free product, I got a travel size Shower Gel in “Hello Beautiful” – that’s the current scent in my travel bag. I also got a few body poofs and Lily is now obsessed with “Black Cherry Merlot” and wanted a Hand Cream – I made her pay me back.

I did not go crazy because I know the Semi Annual Sale is just around the corner…stay tuned for more soap hoarding!

Wall Flamingo

I am running out of plugs to stick my Wallflowers in!

I had seen this Flamingo Wallflower ($12.50) on Insta, and had plotting to bring it home for several weeks. It just turned out that Lily needed a gift for a birthday party this weekend…how convenient. I even remembered to bring the coupons I got in the mail: a free gift worth $5.50, a single wick candle for $5 and 20% off my entire purchase.

We quickly added the Flamingo and a gift set to our shopping bag. The $5.50 gift could be either a travel size or a purse size hand cream, so I chose a hand cream in “Rose Quartz”. Aromatherapy was B2G2, which is better than the usual B3G3, so I picked out some “Love” scented products – Rose and Vanilla. I chose 2 Aromatherapy Body Washes ($13.50), an Aromatherapy Body Cream ($13.50) and an Aromatherapy Pillow Spray ($15.50). My pillows will put me in the mood now!

As for the candle, I was gonna grab a random rose scent until Lily found this “French Baguette” candle ($5, down from $14.50). I was skeptical, but it really does smell like crusty french bread. My mom would have been OBSESSED with this candle – it’s so buttery! I need the body spray….

Second Chance at Black Friday

Last Friday, I was off work, out and about and I happened to notice an email for $2.95 Hand Soap Sale. So after Big Lots, I skipped on over to Bath & Body Works…

I filled a bag with 6 bottles…what? That is a damn empty bag, but I just filled up on soap a few weeks ago. I was hoping to use the coupons I forgot to bring to Candle Day the week before. [$8.95 3 wick candles – it was INSANE. There were bare shelves everywhere and I managed to get 2 of the last 3-4 “Twisted Peppermint” candles. I was lucky I didn’t get shanked in the parking lot.] Unfortunately, I couldn’t stack coupons with the soaps…but they would let me do two transactions…

I was about to give up and just leave with my soap, when I noticed that they had two racks of sexy black bags by the front door. They had a shitload of the VIP Black Friday Bags left! I verified with an employee – they were selling them for $35 each and I could use all my coupons. Not only did I get $10 off, but I got a free “Winter Candy Apple” Shower Gel for Lily and a free “White Citrus” Shower Gel for myself.

Inside the gorgeous fake leather VIP bag: a Fine Fragrance Mist in “Into the Stars” (it smells nice, but I wasn’t ready to start a new scent, so I gave it to Lily); a “Winter Candy Apple” 3 wick candle, a “Twisted Peppermint” Foaming Hand Soap, a Men’s Collection 2-in-1 Hair & Body Wash in “Ocean” (my husband shall enjoy it); “Vanilla Bean Noel” Shea Butter Hand Cream; “Champagne Toast” Antibacterial Hand Gel; and a “Lump of Coal” Charcoal Sheet Mask with Purifying Charcoal.

Just a few weeks more weeks until the Semi-Annual Sale! I better make room!

$3 for ALL Hand Soaps, plus a 20% off coupon? That wasn’t even the most exciting part…

…a new Bath & Body Works opened up closer to me! I was checking traffic on Google and there it was – a location I had apparently never noticed before, in the Shops at Bella Terra. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by an very exuberant employee named Toby. (I am pretty sure Toby is gonna be my new BFF.) I asked how long they’d been open and he told me three weeks. Frankly, I’m shocked that it took me three weeks to notice.

There wasn’t a limit, but I limited myself to 15 soaps, which ended up as $2.40 each after coupon. I was excited to get some Halloween soaps, like “Vampire Blood” – I put them out immediately. I also let me kids pick a scent. My son picked “Flannel” (he is so grunge, like me) and my daughter picked “Coconut Pumpkin Latte” (is she becoming basic, like me?). Merkin does NOT look impressed by my haul, does she?

I also grabbed a Moisture Lip Crayon in “Peony” ($6.50, down from $8.50), but it was so disappointing. “Peony” was only the color, not the scent. The scent was…bubblegum. Gag.

I cannot WAIT to go see Toby again!

2 More Semi-Annual Hauls

A post shared by Lara (@knobbygirl) on

Again, a double post with two separate Bath & Body Works Semi-Annual Sale Hauls. Each one ended up being about $30 each after coupons, so I’ll be stocked up for a good long while.

The first haul was last Saturday and I had Lily with me. I hit the Fry Road location (because fuck going to a mall on a Saturday). I started off just looking for the “Rose” Foaming Hand Soap I snagged on my last trip, but they didn’t have any. I ended up letting Lily pick a Shower Gel and Body Lotion from the 75% off bins – she chose “Hello Sun Shine”, a citrus-y one that smells great. I picked up a “Wild Rose & Apple” Shower Gel for myself, now that it’s in the 75% off bin, too. I added two more hand soaps to my bag, plus a “New York” 3-wick candle for $10. Did you know New York smells like “Rosewater & Ivy” – I figured it smelled like pizza rats. Oh, and I found a mini candle of “Sunwashed Petals”, which I’ve never seen before…and then I realized that it was a sniffer for Wallflowers. (They said I could buy it – shrug.) I also added two Wallflowers in the same scent.

The next trip was a lunchtime trip, looking for more of the “Rose” soap. No luck, but I did find “Vetiver”. I grabbed another 8 Hand Soaps, plus a back-up of “Endless Weekend” Shower Gel at 75% off. I also grabbed a 75% off Owl Wallflower Nightlight for Lily’s bedroom. I had bought her a grocery store one when we moved in, but I cannot ever remember what brand it is…plus, did you know that refills for those things cost more than the ones at Bath & Body Works (on sale)? Fuck that. Now her room can smell pretty, too. Oh, and a “Peony” purse lotion.

So…I wonder if this is the last shopping trip this sale?

2 Sales, 2 Hauls

A post shared by Lara (@knobbygirl) on

Monday, June 4th was the first day of Bath & Body Works’ Semi-Annual Sale. You know I was there!

I am not particularly a fan of the location adjacent to my office – the dead/dying West Oaks Mall – but I managed to not get shanked while making my way through the parking lot and schlepping through Palais Royale to get there. (Have you ever noticed that Palais Royale ALWAYS smells like hot dog water and raw meat? Not just this one, but all of them. Why is that?)

First day of the sale, there’s plenty of stock and and it’s somewhat neat still. That doesn’t last long. Prices are the highest they’ll be, but that selection…

The first decision I made, was to add “Wild Rose & Apple” to my shower. I picked up 2 shower gels, a body lotion and a fine fragrance mist at 50% off. If I see it go to 75%, I’ll definitely buy more – this shit smells GOOD. My MiL even complimented it.

I considered adding “Rose Quartz” to my shower, but I decided to hold off – I had put some lotion on my hands when I first got to the store, but it started to annoy me. I did go ahead and add 4 Deep Cleansing Hand Soaps at $3 each, two $2 Astrology candles (one for me and one for my sis), a couple of 50% off bath poofs and 3 Wallflower Refills.

A post shared by Lara (@knobbygirl) on

A very nice haul, especially since I had a $10 off $40 coupon in my email…but I already had an online order en route. Deep Cleansing Hand Soap was on sale for $3 last week and I couldn’t resist.

I ordered 9 of them. I had to, in order to use the free shipping on $25 coupon. Two of the soaps I picked up Monday were dupes of what I’d already ordered – “Pink Grapefruit Pop” and “Strawberry Lemonade”, but the rest were new.

I’m fairly certain that these will not be my last hauls from the sale. Sorry, not sorry.

OH! And TODAY, Bath & Body Works’ Instagram account regrammed my haul picture. I can die happy.
