Influenster Vox Box – Perricone MD

I qualified for a another Influenster Vox Box – especially so soon after the last one. I was also excited to get such a high end brand like Perricone MD!

Inside the Vox Box, I received a full size bottle of Perricone MD No-Rinse Micellular Cleansing Treatment. I received the bottle free for testing purposes, but the full size bottle retails for $45.

The first thing that struck me about the product was the heft to the bottle – it’s in a REAL glass bottle. It’s so rare to see glass bottle these days!

Unlike other Micellular Waters that I’ve tried, the Perricone is a thicker product – almost gel-like. It’s also bright blue. It feel so refreshing on you face, but it isn’t stinging or tightening like my usual toner (Sea Breeze). There’s also no residue or feeling that you need another rinse. As an added bonus, I was also able to use the cleanser to remove some medical tape residue on my breasts after my recent nipple reconstruction surgery – BONUS!

I highly recommend this product based on performance, although it’s quite a bit out of most people’s price range.

Thanks again Influenster – I’ll be sad when I run out of this product!

Influenster Vox Box – Pantene Foam at Walgreens

A post shared by Lara (@knobbygirl) on

It’s been a while since I’ve gotten an Influenster Vox Box – over a year!

I qualified for the Pantene Foam at Walgreens Vox Box. Influenster sent me a full size bottle of Pantene Foam Daily Moisture Renewal Conditioner, complimentary for testing purposes. I am happy to test a conditioner, since I have far more samples of shampoo than conditioner stacked in my shower.

When I first started using it, it was very, VERY hard to get past the initial impression – which is rubbing shaving cream in your hair. Once you start working it in though, it feels nothing like shaving cream. As it melts into your hair, it feels more like a regular conditioner. I really like how it makes my hair feel, moisturized, but not weighed down. Some conditioners make my soft, but limp, but there was still a bunch of bounce in my hair with the Pantene. This is a really nice product.

It remains to be seen as to whether I will permanently add this product into the rotation, but it is a distinct possibility.

All June at Walgreens, you can BUY 1, Get 1 50% Off Pantene Products. Plus, get a $5 Off digital coupon (available on the Walgreens app or Walgreens.com) when you EITHER Buy 2 Pantene Foam Products OR Buy Any 3 Pantene Hair Products. If you REALLY want to stack the deal, you also get $3 in Walgreens Reward Points when you buy any 3 Pantene Products.

Thanks Influenster!

Influenster Vox Box – Darling Vox Box

A post shared by Lara (@knobbygirl) on

I wasn’t expecting to qualify for another Vox Box so soon…but hey, not complaining!

The Darling Vox Box is definitely MOM-oriented…I’m a MOM, so I definitely appreciate the help. The first thing to catch my eye in the box was the Duncan Hines Perfect for 1: Chocolate Lovers Cake. It’s basically a tiny packet of cake mix, formulated to microwave in a mug…perfect for NOT sharing with little crumbsnatchers!

Also in the Darling Vox Box: Eva NYC Therapy Session Hair Mask (Yassssss); Live Clean Baby Gentle Moisture Tearless Shampoo & Wash and Baby Gentle Moisture Baby Lotion (I’ll admit, my kids are past the prime age for these products, so I gifted to my sister – her little ones have super-sensitive skin and will benefit from the formula); a Country Crock Buttery Spread Coupon (I’ll be using this for an upcoming gathering); and the real MVP of this box…Nature’s Bounty Energy Gummies. HOLY FUCKING SHIT, these things are magic. They have all the benefit of an energy drink, but none of the drawbacks. I am VERY sensitive to caffeine – If I drink any after noon, I won’t be sleeping until one in the morning. The gummies aren’t driven by caffeine (although there’s a but of naturally occuring caffeine from the kola nut), it’s mainly B-12 and guarana. I take it in the morning and feel energized for the day, but I’m still able to sleep at night without a sleep aid like Tylenol PM. 10/10, will buy again!

Influenster Vox Box – Rosy Vox Box

A post shared by Lara (@knobbygirl) on

Ooooooh! I finally qualified for a good vox box from Influenster. (I received one with coupons for gluten free stuff a few months ago. No. Thank. You.)

I was most excited to try the two Vera Wang Embrace fragrances in the box. Rose Buds and Vanilla is my jam. It’s a very mature rose scent, reminiscent of Cartier Goutte de Rose. I likely will buy it when I can find it in a store (not at Ulta or Sephora yet – I checked. The other scent is Marigold and Gardenia, also very mature…but not in a good way. I wore it all day yesterday –  that powdery gardenia scent is not for me.

Also in the box: Fancy Feet Ball of Foot Cushions (I’ve pretty much given up on heels, but these might make them more comfortable for me…and an excuse to go shopping); Secret Clinical Strength Deodorant (I’ve never felt like I am particularly stinky or sweaty, but a good deodorant nonetheless); Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Soft Waves Sea Salt Spray (I have sooooo many sea salt sprays, but they work so well to add a wave with a simple hair twist); and Purell Advanced Hand Sanitizer Naturals (I admit, I don’t use hand sanitizer if I can help it – it makes my knuckles bleed…but I’ll be keeping it in the car for the kids).

Good job Influenster – I’ll likely be buying a full size of at least one product in the box…

Influenster Vox Box – Fresh is Fierce Vox Box

Influenster sent my vajayjay a gift!

Inside my Fresh is Fierce Vox Box is a 20 pack of Carefree acti-fresh pantiliners. Carefree is my regular brand, so I was quite happy to save a dollar and get a free pack. Ever since getting my Mirena three years ago, pantiliners are all I’ve needed. (IUDs are the next best thing to a hysterectomy!)

I also got a 50 cents off coupon – score!

Back from Hiatus

/

Somehow I managed to get stacked with a business trip to Dallas and a Girl’s Weekend in New Orleans within the same week.

It was like I was on another planet for over a week!

At least I had the pleasure of coming home to a nice healthy pile of boxes – Birchbox, Ipsy, Beauty Box 5 and Influenster!

I’ve managed to open them all and peek inside, but it will probably take a few days to post them all…

/

Since we were going to New Orleans, I had to bust out “Bitchcraft” from Delush Polish’s Scream Supreme Collection.

My nails had to look good as long as possible, so I used my best base coat – Orly Bonder – and topped it with 2 coats of Glisten & Glow “HK Girl”.

After 2 coats, my nails were as hard as rock.

Let me tell you, it was a sonuvabitch to get off – it took over 30 minutes.

/

We had planned on doing a full American Horror Story Coven tour, but my hangover prevented us from going on any tours. I’m not as young as I used to be – I can’t hang with the big dogs. We did, however, go find Madame LaLaurie’s mansion in the French Quarter before we started drinking too heavily. They don’t allow tours anymore, which is a bummer, but we did peek into the courtyard and look into the windows.

I guess that just means we’ll have to go back again soon to get to see the Garden District house and all of the other locations we had planned on going to see!

Influenster Vox Box – Calvin Klein VoxBox

/

I had no idea that I qualified for the Calvin Klein Vox Box until I started getting emails telling me to check it in.

Inside the little silver bubble envelope was a sample of REVEAL Men Calvin Klein – Calvin Klein’s newest fragrance for men. Read their description:

REVEAL Men Calvin Klein captures the tension between instant attraction and playful seduction. Make him feel confident and sexy with this vibrant, salty oriental fragrance. Crystallized ginger, raw salt, and vetiver notes will leave him charismatic and spontaneous. The scent is addictive and he will be irresistible

This scent is NOT for me. It is a sophisticated scent for sure, but it smells too “Grandpa” for me to like on my husband. He sniffed it and just shrugged, which is high praise from him. I do know that he used to wear CK One long before we met, so it’s not a stretch for him to wear it. Actually, I may let his dad check it out – he might like it.

The sample also came with a little fake leather credit card holder – Logan will get a kick out of it. I’m afraid to give the sample to him – my sister gave me some Sephora Men’s cologne samples to give him and he coated himself in Paco Rabanne. Oh my GAWD, it made me gag.

Influenster Vox Box – Frosty Vox Box

/

I finally qualified for an Influenster Vox Box! That golden moment when you have just the right demographics and the Influenster gods shine down on you and send you box full of fun stuff to test out – complimentary, for testing purposes, of course.

Inside my Frosty Vox Box: Boots No 7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Serum (I had gotten a sample in my Target Beauty Box and used it last night – what a coinkidink); NYC Expert Last Lip Color in “Sugar Plum”; Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane Decaf Green Tea (This will go to Logan); EcoTools Sleek + Shine Finisher Hair Brush (Excited!); Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliner in “Black” and Gentle Eyes Makeup Remover (Yay! I am almost out of my Ulta Makeup Remover); McCormick Gourmet Thyme (This will go to my husband); and Fruit Vines Bites in “Cherry” (These will go to Lily).

This box has something for everyone! I can’t wait to dig in…

Influenster Virtual Vox – Ice Cream Stock-Up

/

So…I joined Influenster. Influenster is a site that links to your Social Media accounts. You can participate in campaigns to trial products and programs, in addition to giving opinions on products, services and entertainment on their website. Sometimes, you have a chance to get free stuff. They even do whole boxes of free stuff. I figured I could give it a spin to try it out…

The first thing I qualified for was the Ice Cream Stock-up Virtual Vox. Influenster sent me a coupon for a free box of ice cream from Target – score! I was a bit disappointed that the coupon I got was for Fruttare and not Magnum or Klondike. Luckily, Target was having a “Buy 3, Get 1 Free” sale…

/

You know that commercial where Rachel Bilson is stuck in a traffic jam, but then she goes berserk and carjacks an 18 wheeler full of ice cream bars? Totally realistic, because Magnum is that fucking good. I only buy them when they’re on sale AND I have a coupon – even at $3.49 each on sale, that’s pretty pricey when there are only 3 in a box.

Obviously, I bought 3 boxes of Magnum and used my free Fruttare coupon, so really – I got 2 free! Fruttare is actually pretty good. I got Coconut & Milk – there were chunks of real coconut in it!
