February 2018 Ipsy Bag – Unzipped

A post shared by Lara (@knobbygirl) on

Ipsy takes on a monumental task with February’s theme, “Unzipped”, the insert card boldly declaring, “Being sexy isn’t limited to a certain size, shape, or age.” Not only YES, but FUCK YASSS! Thank you, Ipsy!

I’m a big fan of black lace on nude – I have several skirts and dresses, not to mention lingerie, that would be a swell match for this bag.

The products are a bit “meh” this month, but not horrible. I’m actually glad to have a bit of dry shampoo – I’d given all mine away around Xmas-time. It’s Eva NYC Freshen Up Dry Shampoo. Also in this month’s bag: -417 Hand Moisturizer (a neutral scent, I cannot quite place it); TRÈSTIQUE Mini Eye Pencil in “Swiss Chocolate”; Beaute Basics Eyeshadow in “Lavish”; and a Luxie Beauty Blending and Shading Eye Brush 249 (I think this is going into my travel makeup brush set).

June Ipsy Bag – Volume Up

A post shared by Lara (@knobbygirl) on

Ooooh…look at those lips. So why aren’t there any lip products in my bag this month?

Let’s see…I got a Beaute Basics Travel Face Blender in Light Pink; Peek Beauty Multiuse Black Primer (I am scared and intrigued by this product at the same time; how do I end up NOT looking like I got punched in the eye?); PÜR Mini Fully Charged Magenetic Mascara (another scary product – it’s literally supposed to be magnets); Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish in “What’s a Budget” (sea-foam blue); and Delectable by Cake Beauty Coconut & Cream Triple Moisture Body Lotion.

A fun bag for summer – with a few products I’ll have to get brave enough to try.

January Ipsy Bag – Metropolis

A photo posted by Lara (@knobbygirl) on

“Metropolis” is January’s futuristic city theme. Did Superman create this beauty bag for Lois Lane?

The first product that drew my attention was the Pretty Woman Nail Polish in “I Can’t Deal” – it’s a pavement grey cream. So weird – I don’t own any polishes like this at all. Also in this month’s bag: Beaute Basics Contour Blush Brush; Trust Fund Beauty Lipgasm Lipgloss in “Blame Game” (I hope it lives up to it’s name); Naked Cosmetics Mica Pigment in “Desert Sunset #02″ (I got a similar shade in last February’s bag) and Jelly Pong Pong Lip Scrub in “Coffee + Coconut” (looking forward to seeing if this scrub rescues my abused lips).

A very odd bag, but I’ll use most of the items.

October Ipsy Bag – Black Magic

A photo posted by Lara (@knobbygirl) on

This month’s ipsy bag is full of “Black Magic”!

I’m IN LOVE with the bag, designed by Valfre. Look at the cute little witches and ghosts and lipsticks and candy corn and black cats and…so cute!

I’m also in love with the stuff in my bag: 2 patchology Flashpatch 5 Minute Hydrogels; theBalm Hot Mama! Shadow/Blush (looks like a dupe of NARS “Orgasm”); Beaute Basics eye Shadow in “Satin Taupe”; ModelCo Instant Brows Brow Pencil in “Light/Medium” (Probably WAY too light for me); and essence Superfine Waterproof Eyeliner Pen (this shit is like a sharpie – I tested it on my wrist and I couldn’t get it off, even with soap and water).
