December 2018 Ipsy Bag – Be Merry. Be Bright. Be Bold. Be You.
Sweet lord, I am behind. The holidays are upon us and I am barely hanging on. I promise, you’ll get all my beauty updates…eventually.
This month’s Ipsy bag is luxe as fuck. It’s a black pleather bag, with gold sequins on the front, with a pink satin lining. You could use it as a clutch on a night out!
Inside this luxe bag: It Cosmetics Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara in “Black” (I really need to trash all my open mascara and start over – I think I will start with this one); Tinct Cosmetics Nail Polish in “Aarhus” (weird name for a cosmetics company and an even weirder name for a plain purple polish); Delectable by Cake Beauty “Iced Gingerbread” Hand Cream (seasonal); F.A.R.A.H. Brushes Tapered Blending Brush 35E; and TLW Frizz Fighter. As a special bonus, I received an SLMISSGLAM L36 Tapered Highlight Brush. I think it is safe to say that tapered brushes are “in” right now.
A GREAT bag itself, with some…interesting…products.

January 2018 Ipsy Bag – Game Face
I gotta get through these boxes before they cut me open!
This month’s “Game Face” ipsy bag is totally 80s! The products are anything but retro. The first product that caught my eye was the F.A.R.A.H BRUSHES Z-Tweeze Dual Ended Tweezer – I’ve never seen a product like this before and I consider myself a tweezer aficionado. One end has the usual wide slant tweezers, but the other end has pointy ones. I cannot wait to start attacking ingrown hairs with these!
Also in this month’s bag: CAKE BY CAKE BEAUTY Heavy Cream Intensive Body Balm; DIRTY LITTLE SECRET COSMETICS Eyeshadow in “Sangria” (sparkly red eyeshadow – yes please!); THEBALM COSMETICS Mary-Lou Manizer; and ANDALOU NATURALS Argan & Shea Styling Cream.

June Ipsy Bag – Volume Up
Ooooh…look at those lips. So why aren’t there any lip products in my bag this month?
Let’s see…I got a Beaute Basics Travel Face Blender in Light Pink; Peek Beauty Multiuse Black Primer (I am scared and intrigued by this product at the same time; how do I end up NOT looking like I got punched in the eye?); PÜR Mini Fully Charged Magenetic Mascara (another scary product – it’s literally supposed to be magnets); Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish in “What’s a Budget” (sea-foam blue); and Delectable by Cake Beauty Coconut & Cream Triple Moisture Body Lotion.
A fun bag for summer – with a few products I’ll have to get brave enough to try.

March Ipsy Bag – Tres Jolie
March’s ipsy bag is beautifully color-coordinated – from the pale pink bag with a rose gold zipper to that snail thingy (more on that later) to the nude lippie. And the bag is super-sized – perfect for liners or brushes.
So about that cute little snail…it’s Ladykin Affinitic Snail Cream. It’s literally 80% snail secretions. And I am supposed to put this on my face. For wrinkles. For what it’s worth, I looked it up on Amazon and it had some legit good reviews…so I’ll give it a shot. But…snail slime…on my face.
Also in this month’s “Tres Jolie” bag: Cake Desserted Island Supreme Body Mousse; Elizabeth Mott Blending Brush (the Elizabeth Mott All Over Shadow Brush I received a few years ago is still my favorite lid brush); tarte cosmetics tarteist quick dry matte lip paint in “rosé”; and Doucce Freematic Eyeshadow in “Marisa” (for the record, I HATE the name “Marisa” – my college boyfriend cheated on me with a homely (and possible homeless) skag named Marisa).

December Ipsy Bag – carpe p.m.
So does “carpe p.m.” mean “Seize the Night”? Wouldn’t it have been simpler for ipsy to just theme the bag as “Seize the Night”?
This month’s bag is full of juicy finds:a MintPear Beauty Blending Sponge (I am getting quite a collection of these); Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional Face Primer; mPrincess Mineral Eyeshadow in “Melting Maple”; tarte Cosmetics tartist Glossy Lip Paint in “wcw” (I tried this immediately – I am not used to the glossy look, but the deep vampy shade looked great on me…although it did NOT last through a meal like the lip liquids I’ve been using lately); and Cake Beauty Heavy Cream Intensive Hand Repair Balm.
Oh – and that hot pink crushed velvet bag – CRUSHING it.
