Rule My World

Sinful Colors Sinful Shine “Rule My World” is a sheer, shimmery gold polish. I picked it up a few years ago at Dollar Tree, but I’d pay full price for it – it’s THAT nice.

This is two coats of “Rule My World” over Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat and under Glisten & Glow Top Coat.

Strawberry Cheesecake

Why yes, this is my FOURTH nail post in a row…thank you for keeping track.

I remembered that I cannot use a base coat with Velvet Mattes! Aren’t you proud of me?

This is two coats of Sinful Colors “Strawberry Cheesecake” – no base coat, no top coat. I looked good for about two days, before it started chipping into oblivion.

Hella Clean

Why do I keep buying these ugly-ass nail polishes?

I thought “Skurt Skurt” looked like cat puke…but Sinful Colors “Hella Clean” looks like the cat ate a MAGA flag and puked it up. Why is the glitter in a vaguely skin colored base? And why add the black and white itty-bitty glitter that looks like salt and pepper? I have no answers.

This is two coats of “Hella Clean” over Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat and under both Glisten & Glow Glitter Grabber and Glisten & Glow Top Coat.

PEEPS Fruit Punch

I’ve never encountered fruit punch flavored PEEPS…thank GAWD. I hate fruit punch, especially Hawaiian Punch. I have a story about Hawaiian Punch…but on the off chance my high school drama teacher ever reads this (hi, Mrs. Hale), I’ll refrain from sharing the story HERE…

I don’t even like fruit punch colored things…like this nail polish, Sally Hansen Insta-Dri “PEEPS Fruit Punch”. It’s just a touch too orange for me. I’ve gotten over my fear of orange nail polish, but rorange is still hard for me. I’ll pray on it.

This is two coats of “PEEPS Fruit Punch”, over Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat and under Glisten & Glow Top Coat.

Sugar Cloud

Sometimes I rip off the clearance sticker – sometimes I don’t. This time, I did not – so I will forever be reminded that I only paid $1 at HEB for Sally Hansen Sugar Shimmer “Sugar Cloud”. Can you believe I bought it 8 years ago?

“Sugar Cloud” is a muted aqua, with a brilliant gold shimmer. The gold shimmer is not quite evident in my crappy phone picture, but it’s there.

This is two coats of “Sugar Cloud” over Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat.

Was It All Just a Dream?

…no really, that’s the name of the polish.

This is OPI “Was It All Just a Dream?”, from their 2018 Grease Collection. I am OBSESSED with the color aqua right now – my living room, my blankets, even my favorite cup…all aqua. This aqua crème polish is a perfect match!

Even though the polish is kind of old and separating in the bottle, it went on my nails just fine. The first coat was streaky, but a second coat fixed it right up. This is two coats of “Was It All Just a Dream?” over Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat and under Glisten & Glow Top Coat.

As If…

My nails match my doll!

Okay, not MY doll…my daughter’s doll…but you get the idea…and yes, I realize that it’s NOT a Barbie…but we all make exceptions sometimes.

I just happened to pick up these Color Street Nail Strips in “Breaking Plaid”…and coincidentally, we JUST watched Clueless for the first time about a month ago. (Don’t tell me, I already know I am WEIRD.) Shortly afterwards, Lily was gifted this Rainbow High doll – how could I not go all matchy matchy?

I will admit, I LOATHE the solid color nail strips – they show every single mistake in my application. I totally screwed up the thumb – it ripped right in the center! From now on, I’ll use just the glitter or designs and use regular polish on accent nails…because these nails were an absolute tragedy!

Blueberry Milk, NOW with Snowflakes!

Remember “Blueberry Milk”? My work trip got rescheduled after that freak ice storm, so I redid the nails I had planned on, with a small added touch…snowflakes!

This is two coats of Nailtopia “Blueberry Milk”, over Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat. I topped with Glisten & Glow Top Coat. I did sandwich in a coat of Glisten & Glow Glitter Grabber over the Julep Snowflakes and under the top coat. What did I do before Glitter Grabber? Oh yeah, I just peeled the decals off when they started to lift.

As much as I pay attention to my nails, I know it’s not something that most folks pay attention to, ESPECIALLY not in a male-dominated industry like Telecomm. Imagine my surprise, when one of the Outside Plant guys noticed my snowflakes! I will take that single compliment TO MY GRAVE.

Climaxxx

Such a naughty name for an innocent looking polish.

Sinful Colors “Climaxxx” is a plastic-y, Barbie pink. The first coat was slightly streaky, but the second coat evened out well.

This is two coats of “Climaxxx” over Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat and under Glisten & Glow Top Coat.

Smoky Palo Santo

Who doesn’t want their fingers to smell like burning wood?

This is Sinful Colors “Smoky Palo Santo” from the Essenchills Collection. The scent is very, very faint – but they did smell like exotic burning Palo Santo for about 24 hours.

This is two coats of “Smoky Palo Santo” over Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat. Without a top coat, the polish started chipping rather quickly, which was a disappointment.
