Target Beauty Boxes – October + November 2019
Oops…I did it again…
I finally thought to check for Target Beauty Boxes and found that I missed a month…again. I don’t think Target is sending out email notifications anymore – or else they’re getting lost in my spammy inbox and I am just not seeing them. Come to think of it, I haven’t been seeing anyone else post about the boxes either – no wonder there were still October boxes left – Target is not telling anybody!
There were actually TWO November boxes, but one was entirely for Curly hair, so I just picked up the “Beauty Boosters” box. Inside the box: Love Beauty Planet Radical Refresher Body Wash – Coconut Water + Mimosa (just a packet, so good for travel); Olly Undeniable Beauty Multivitamin Gummies; Sunny Isle Jamaican Black Castor Oil Eyelash & Eyebrow Grow Serum (I don’t need more eyelashes, but I am intrigued by the idea of growing thicker brows – mine never recovered from the plucky 90s); Garnier Fructis Sleek Shot In-Shower Styler (weird); Pantene Gold Series Hydrating Butter Creme (what is this?); and Pantene Gold Series Leave-On Detangling Milk. A very odd box.
October’s “Hers” box was themed “Your Autumn It-Kit” and included Ardell Faux Mink Lashes (nope); Crest 3D White Brilliance Toothpaste, Vaseline Extremely Dry Skin Rescue (I need this – my skin is parched); No7 Laboratories Line Correcting Booster Serum; L’Oreal Paris Colorista Hair Makeup in “Hot Pink” and “Raspberry” (Seems like a waste of effort for me, but I might try it); Lumene Nordic Hydra 24 Hour Moisturizer (This is a nice moisturizer, but be warned that the scent is strong and you can smell it on your face); and Head & Shoulders Royal Oils Moisture Boost Shampoo and Moisture Renewal Conditioner (I really feel like Head & Shoulders has upped their game from just dandruff shampoo – I’ve liked every new formula they’ve put out). I like the October box more than the November one.
October’s “His” box was themed “Moving & Grooming” and included Suave Mens 3-in-1 Citrus Rush Shampoo + Conditioner and Body Wash; The Art of Shaving Unscented Pre-Shave Oil, Shaving Cream & After-Shaving Balm; Bandito Chill a Minute…or 30 Cream Mask (chance of my husband trying this are slim); Crest Gum and Sensitivity All Day Protection Toothpaste (I’ll be stealing this for myself to try); Dove Men+Care Active Fresh On the Go Deodorant Wipes; and Head & Shoulders Old Spice 2-in-1 Shampoo.
Each box was $7, free shipping, plus 5% off with my Target Red Card. Of course, the coupons in the October boxes have already expired, but I should be able to use the November $3 off coupon – it is regular old coupon again!
Target Beauty Box – August 2017
Another month, another Target Beauty Box.
The “Hello Routine” Box has a little bit of everything: Herbal Essences Argan Oil Shampoo (but no conditioner – assholes); up & up 25 ct. Facial Wipes (Beauty Hack – I use these to clean up eyeshadow fallout under my eyes before doing my foundation); Dove Dry Spray Invisible Deodorant (giving to my son); Biore Deep Cleaning Pore Strips (Just one strip, but with a Limited Edition Pattern); SpaLife Nourishing Facial Mask (always welcome); and Garnier Clearly Brighter Daily Scrub (and scrubs are always welcome).
Another good box. I wish I didn’t have to go to the trouble of ordering these each month and they just showed up on their own…
So $7 again this month, plus free shipping and 5% off with my Red Card. And another $3 off $15 coupon. I am so proud of myself that I actually used the coupon from last month’s box – I bought some OGX Bamboo Fiber-Full Shampoo and Conditioner, plus some up & up polish remover. Go me!
Target Beauty Boxes – July 2016
So two boxes again this month…but they are both for ME….
The “Fresh and Fabulous” box has some weird items: Tom’s of Main Peppermint Antiplaque & Whitening Toothpaste (I’ve heard Tom’s has a weird texture, but gets your teeth really clean); Dove Regenerative Nourishment Shampoo & Conditioner (large sample tubes!); Garnier Clearly Brighter Daily Moisturizer (how convenient – I just used up the Simple Gel I was using from Birchbox’s last CEW box); Sweet Spot On-the-Go Wipettes (Nowhere on the package does it tell me what I am supposed to wipe with these – do I use them on my face or my ass?); Umberto Lifting Powder (um, going to gift this); and NYX Butter Lipstick in “Moonlit Night” (love this dark plum color).
The “Simply Radiant” box is a bit more normal: L’Oreal Paris Color Vibrancy Shampoo & Conditioner (more big sample bottles); Dessange Paris Purifying Clay Shampoo (a huge fucking bottle – but NO conditioner – WTF?); Wet n Wild Max Fantastic Mascara in “Black Cat”; Derma e Firming DMAE Eye Lift; Acure Facial Cleansing Gel; and Aquaphor Healing Ointment (this means I need another tattoo).
Each box was $7, so I wasn’t able to use last month’s $3 off $15 coupon…sneaky, sneaky! I still got free shipping and 5% off with my Red Card, though.
Flawless Ulta Haul
So…sometimes you just wanna buy something,
After perusing the Memorial Day sales…I was just about to place another overseas Makeup Revolution order (since they were giving away £25 Mystery Bags again), but I had a hard time getting my order up to £30. The only palette I really wanted badly was the Flawless Matte…
…and Ulta has it! On Memorial Day, they were giving away a free mystery sampler with a $50 purchase…no brainer.
So, in addition to the Makeup Revolution Flawless Matte Palette ($15), I also picked up a Makeup Revolution Baked Blusher in “Loved Me the Best” ($5) – these seem to be Laura Geller dupes – LOVE.
I also picked up one of the new NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks – “Clubhopper” ($6.99) and one of the new NYX Plush Gel Lipsticks – “Breakup” ($6.99). I tried “Breakup” today – so smooth and moisturizing, but doesn’t last long on the lips.
How else can I get to $50? 2 bottles of Zoya Remove+ ($10 each) and a pack of Ulta Exfoliating Cotton Pads ($3.49). Done!
That Mystery Bag had some cool stuff: Mario Badescu Enzyme Revitalizing Mask, LORAC Alter Ego Lip Gloss in “Goddess”; Ahava Dead Sea Crystal Osmoter X6; NKD Skin Tinted Tan Mousse (NOPE); bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in “Get Ready” (my third one – I sent the last one to Sally); and Rodial Glamoxy Snake Serum (like that shit in Vegas?).
I also got a free sample of DevaCurl Waves Ahead Loo-Poo Delight – I don’t have curls, but why not try it for free? The free Butter London lippie was sold out. Sad face.
For my regular samples, I got Redken High Rise Volume Shampoo & Conditioner and Garnier Skin Active Clearly Brighter Brightening & Smoothing Daily Moisturizer.

So look at that palette…all those warm matte colors…I tore a chunk out of my thumb nail whilst peeling the plastic off – but it was totally worth it.
Amazon Beauty Box – May 2016
Amazon is going all out, putting itself into the Beauty Box game. First the Luxury Box and now this box…
This box was a bit more – $9.99 – and has drugstore brands…BUT…instead of giving me $10 off $50 like the last box, this box automatically put a $9.99 credit into my account. Of course, I can only use it on beauty products, but it will be much easier to use.
Inside the Amazon Beauty Box: L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara in “Black”; Garnier Whole Blends Repairing Shampoo & Conditioner in “Honey Treasures”; Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Shampoo & Conditioner (I haven’t tried this before, but I love the other Fekkai samples I’ve received in the past); L’Oreal Brow Stylist Sculptor in “Brunette” (Interesting); L’Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation in “Nude Beige”; Black 15in1 Miracle Hair Treatment; and Mineral Fusion Lengthening Mascara in “Graphite”.

Ulta Adventure
Oh the disappointment when one opens up an online order and one of the items is damaged! I ordered 2 NYX AVANT POP palettes (BOGO50%off) – and the “Art Throb” palette was shattered. Luckily, the “Surreal My Heart Palette” was in fine shape. I also ordered a clearance Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in “Woodstock” (hot pink!) for $10 and 2 Palladio lip stains – “rose” and “mocha”.
Because my order was over $40, I got the NYX Beauty Break Set, with Love in Paris Palette in “Merci Beaucoup”, Doll Eye Mascara in “Extreme Jet Black”, Butter Gloss in “Maple Blondie” and Slide On, Glide On, Stay On & Definitely a Turn On Waterproof Extreme Shine Eye Liner. (I like this set better than what I actually paid for.) For samples, I chose skincare and got CoTZ Face Sunscreen and Garnier Nourishing Cleansing Oil.
This morning, I went on an adventure to replace the shattered palette and use my $10 off ANYTHING coupon to get another Urban Decay Naked Skin BB Cream. The Copperwood Ulta didn’t have the paletter OR the BB Cream. I did pick up another Zoya Remove+.
The Willowbrook Ulta did have the NYX palette – phew.
Lily also begged for Sally Hansen “Sweet Nectar”. It was 79 cents on the clearance aisle, so why not. It’s sickeningly orange, but you never know when it will come in handy.
It’s not Saturday without a quick trip to Bath & Body Works. I’d been jonesing to experience the Semi Annual Sale in person, since I’ve been ordering online.
It was a fairly conservative trip – 2 50% off 3-wick candles, plus a metal candle holder. Just 5 50% off Hand Soaps – I just needed enough to use my $10 off $40 coupon.
I need a nap – I am plumb tuckered out.
January Beauty Box 5 – Hello!
My Beauty Box 5 and Ipsy Bag got to share the mailbox yesterday!
January’s Beauty Box 5 is “Hello!” this month. Inside are Hard Candy Kal-Eye-Descope Baked Eyeshadow Duo in “make believe” (I am getting addicted to wet/dry shadows!); Sally Hansen Salon Effects French Mani in “Gold Cabaret” (I’ve never tried these – this should be interesting); Ultraflesh The Gold Standard Mascara in “Blackout” (What an odd, filthy name for mascara!); Softsoap Nutri Serum Vitamin E Body Wash; and Garnier Fructis Daily Care Fortifying Shampoo (well, now I have to buy the matching conditioner for my travel bag…sneaky).
So glad to be getting makeup in my box again…
