Not Sorry

Sinful Colors “Not Sorry” was my first pick from the “Go Off!” Collection. Although it looks baby blue in the bottle, it comes out more of a steel gray or pewter on my nails.

This is two coats of “Not Sorry” over Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat and under Glisten & Glow Top Coat. Two coats is pretty sheer, I could’ve gone with three. Glitters were a bit sparse, I had to go fishing to get 2-3 per nail.

This polish is only so-so – it might be years until I get to the other two.

Go Off!

Breaking News! HEB has the newest Sinful Colors Glitter Topper Collection – “Go Off!”

Do I really need three different shades of the same shimmer topper with the exact same glitters – little gold solar flares and hot pink lips? I do…because HOT PINK LIPS!

The baby blue polish is “Not Sorry”. The light pink polish is “Pop Off”. The lavender polish is “Just Say It”. I bought them ALL…at $2.98 each.

I guess my news alert is fairly meaningless, unless you live in South Texas, where HEB is KING…

Ruby Tutu

Sinful Colors “Ruby Tutu” has a song stuck in my head…Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, Ruby Soho!

“Ruby Tutu” is a sheer red polish with a bit of sparkle. It reminds me of the inside of a tomato, of all things. I started with Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat. There is one coat of “Ruby Tutu” on my index finger, two coats on my middle finger and three coats on the rest of my fingers. I finished with Sinful Colors Demi Matte Top Coat on all my fingers, except the pinky – I went for a glossy finish with Glisten & Glow Top Coat.

Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, Ruby Soho! (I can’t remember the rest of the song – just that part.)

Low-Key Lavender

Why yes, I did paint my nails to match my kitchen.

After deciding on a shade of pinkish purple for my kitchen – “Lover’s Knot” – I picked a similar shade of purple for my nails. This is Sinful Colors “Low-Key Lavender” from the Essenchills Collections. It’s a light lavender polish with a striking ultraviolet shimmer. The lavender scent is very light and faded quickly, which I was thankful for – lavender gives me a major headache.

This is two coats of “Low-Key Lavender” over Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat. I was surprised at how well this polish lasted without a top coat – I wore it for 8 days, with just a bit of edge wear on my right hand.

Turnt-quoise

I am not even gonna lie – this is one of the lamest nail polish names I’ve ever come across. I give you…Sinful Colors “Turnt-quoise”.

We gonna get turnt!

Is that right? Is that how you use it?

Even though the name is ridiculous, the polish itself is a winner. It’s a very sheer turquoise, with just a hint of shimmer. I started with Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat, with one coat on my index finger, two coats on my middle finger and three coats on the rest. I topped all of my nail (except the pinky), with Sinful Colors Demi Matte Top Coat. My pinky got Glisten & Glow Top Coat, and it’s SO much shinier than the rest of them.

This is my favorite Tulle Temptation so far.

Coffee Drip

Sinful Colors “Coffee Drip” does indeed smell like coffee…but there’s an underlying creamy sweetness that’s more like a latte than a straight cup of joe. It’s part of the new Essenchills Collection.

This is two coats of “Coffee Drip” over Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat. I was surprised at how long this polish lasted without a top coat – it only started to chip after a long bout of dishes when my son was sick.

I also did my toes, but topped with Glisten & Glow Top Coat. No one will be sniffing my feet, so I don’t need coffee scented toes.

Hot & Hazy

Sinful Colors “Hot & Hazy” is the first up for sampling from the Sheer Matte “Tulle Temptations” Collection. It’s a light neon orange, but it also reminds me a bit of watermelon juice?

I totally copied Melissa (accio_nails) for my swatches. After a nice coat of Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat, I did one coat on my index finger, two coats on my middle finger, and three coats on my ring finger, pinky and thumb. I used the new Sinful Colors Demi Matte Top Coat on all my fingers, EXCEPT my pinky. My pinky got Glisten & Glow Top Coat.

I really like the touch of shimmer in these polishes – I’m looking forward to trying the rest!

So Matcha Better

Sinful Colors “So Matcha Better” is my first pick from the Essenchills Collection!

I don’t know why this color called out to me – it certainly wasn’t the scent. I am not a big green tea/Matcha drinker. The scent was delicate and not offensive. It did not last very long – it faded by the next morning. The color reminds me of swamp mud…imagine Shrek, sitting on my muddy fingernails, farting away…

This is two coats of “So Matcha Better” over Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat. No top coat, so I could let the scent breathe.

Essenchills + Tulle Temptations

If there’s one thing that 2021 has going for it, it’s TWO new collections from Sinful Colors!

The Essenchills Collection is another scented collection, inspired by the scents of a spa day. There are 9 polishes in the collection: “So Matcha Better” (Matcha Tea), “Chamomile Calm” (Chamomile), “Bath Goals” (a Milky Bath), “Coffee Drip” (Coffee), “Salt Bath Babe” (Himalayan Salt), “Beach Vibes” (Ocean Breeze), “Smoky Palo Santo” (Palo Santo), “Low-Key Lavender” (Lavender), and “Eucalyptahhh” (Eucalyptus).

The Tulle Temptations Collection is made of sheer matte polishes with a shimmer. There’s a Semi-Matte Top Coat and 8 polishes: “Sheer-Treuse” (lime green), “Turnt-quoise” (turquoise), “Veiled in Violet” (purple), “Kiss of Cobalt” (blue), “Hot Pink Tights” (pink), “Hot & Hazy” (coral), “See-Through Citrine” (yellow), and “Ruby Tutu” (red).

I was a bit impatient, so I went ahead and ordered six packs of each collection on Amazon…but since each collection is 9 polishes, I knew I would still be on the hunt. Before I even got the Amazon deliveries, BOTH collections showed up at HEB, with the Sheer Matte Tulle Temptations at $1.98 each and the Essenchills at $2.98 each, which is opposite of their Amazon pricing. I filled out my collection, as well as getting duplicate sets to send to a few friends. Like last year’s collection, each collection had Wal-mart exclusive colors, which I managed to find a few days after the others.

Which one will I try first…hmmmmm…

Sweet Cheeks

I absolutely LOVED this nail polish. I’m usually more ambivalent about sheer polishes, but this one was so squishy.

I’ve been sitting on Sinful Colors Quick Bliss “Sweet Cheeks (Sheer)” for a bit. The formula has a great consistency and although sheer, gives smooth, self-levelling coverage.

This is two coats of “Sweet Cheeks (Sheer)” over Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat. I went shiny with Glisten & Glow Top Coat and the finished look reminds me of a gummy bear!
